I have a feeling Gecko will sell more in the longer run than Secondcity but we'll see. I would also count Aloe Blacc - The Man as one of the worst selling number 1s this year :lol:

which is quite strange considering I thought 'The Man' would be one of the biggest songs of the year :lol: But out of the #1s so far I think it'll only outsell She Looks So Perfect, I Wanna Feel, Gecko and Tsunami by year-end.

 

To be fair though it has sold 284k which is good, but not brilliant.

She Looks So Perfect could even overtake it to be fair, it's still top 40 (currently top 20 combined thanks to the album boost).

How much has SLSP sold so far? I'm not sure how close it is to 'The Man', but it seems to be having good longevity so it could easily sell another 75-100k before the year's out.

225,000 as per last week so around 231-232k now I'd guess. Not hugely close yet but it's definitely closing the gap quite quickly!

It's what I expected all along, I predicted 120k or 125k in the prediction thread but only a couple of other people seemed to agree. Its pre-order had done very well but I just felt 'Problem' wouldn't quite have the widespread appeal that the likes of 'Ghost' have and therefore I didn't think it would outsell the first week sales of 'Ghost'. It might do yet we never know but it was never going to get 150k to 160k in my opinion.

Are all those 5SOS songs in the top 100 as a result of album pre-orders, in the same way that You & I/Don't Forget Where You Belong were? It looks like the entire album is there :drama:

 

I don't think so, they'd surely be a lot higher if so. They seem like the kind of act to experience mass scale cherrypicking. They'll be gone in a day or two anyway, wouldn't worry about them impacting the chart in any significant way :P

MAGIC! could even be a contender for #1 the week after Cheryl goes to #1, as I can't see any of the releases that week going to #1 and Cheryl will be more front loaded than MAGIC!
