I'm surprised because it's pretty awful. No where near as good as "Bottoms Up". I don't think "Pills N Potions" has under performed that badly, it's been sitting around the top 50 for a few weeks and Nicki's certainly reached her commercial peak with "Starships". She'll be lucky to get another top 10 as lead artist, imo.

Pills n Potions is just dull. It's a nice song, but everything about it is boring. The sound, the image, the artwork, the video... it would make a nice album filler, around Track 8 or 9, but not a lead single. So disappointing from her.

I actually really admire Nicki for coming back with that, fair enough it's a risk that may not have paid off but she's done something unexpected and I like the track.

 

Plus I never knew she was naturally so striking underneath the clown getup.
