At #29 is "If I Told You That" a duet with singer George Michael, released in March 2000 as the lead UK single and second US single from her Greatest Hits collection. The song first appeared on Whitney's 1998 album "My Love Is Your Love", where she sang it solo and originally Michael Jackson was going to be the featured artist, but for whatever reasons that never happened. In the UK the track became a hit peaking at #9, as well as charting at the same position in Italy. The track made top 40 in Belgium, Ireland, Netherlands, Swiss and Australia, and also charted in Sweden and Germany, but failed to make a dent on the US top 100. In 2012 after Whitney's death the song re-entered the UK charts at #152 due to digital downloads.

At #28 is "I Look To You" released in July 2009 as the lead US single from her 7th and final studio album of the same name. The song was one of two songs that R Kelly wrote for her comeback album and in 2012 this song was re-recorded to feature R Kelly's vocals and he even performed it at Whitney's funeral. Initially another album track "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" was gonna be the lead single, but however after 3 pre release album listening parties, the decision was changed and "Million Dollar Bill" got released worldwide as the lead single, while "I Look To You" was instead chosen for the US market. The track managed to peak at #70 on the US Billboard chart, while the album charted at #1 becoming her first in 12 years. Worldwide the track managed top 20 in Swiss at #16, and top 40 peaks in Sweden, Brazil and Japan. In Germany the track was released as a double a-side with "Million Dollar Bill" peaking at #41, her highest charting hit in 9 years, elsewhere it charted in Austria, Netherlands and Canada. In the UK the track was released in a 5 track remixed form following her success of "MDB" but failed to match the success, due to lack of promo only peaking at #115.

I Look To You is a pretty great track, shouldn't be this low :(

At #27 is "You Give Good Love" released in February 1985 as the lead single from her self titled debut album, and released as the 2nd single in the UK. The song was written by LaLa and produced by Kashif, and originally the song was offered to Roberta Flack, but was thought that it would be better suited to Whitney Houston. But despite great reviews, this song caused Whitney some controversy when it turned up among several songs by advice columnist Ann Landers for having suggestive titles. But nonetheless the song became Whitney's breakthrough hit in the USA reaching #3 becoming an unexpected crossover hit and even made top 10 in Canada peaking at #7. The song won Favourite Soul/R&B single as the 13th American Music Awards and got nominated for 2 Grammys. But worldwide the song wasn't as successful failing to crack the top 40 in any other country, peaking at #44 in New Zealand, #58 in Australia and #93 in the UK.

At #26 is "Love Will Save The Day" released in July 1987 as the fifth and final single from her 2nd album "Whitney". The track was the fastest tempoed song on the album and was seen as a risk by many for a single release, and many believed that she should have released "Love Is A Contact Sport" instead, as this broke her string 7 consecutive #1's by peaking at #9 on the US Billiboard charts, but still continued her string of top 10 hits, 9 in total at the time. Internationally the song was also less successful except for the UK where it peaked at #10 becoming her third top 10 from that album and 6th in total at the time. Worldwide the track managed top 10 in Netherlands, Canada, Belgium, Ireland and Spain. Top 20 in Swiss, top 40 in Germany and #48 in France and a low #77 peak in Australia. After her sudden death in 2012 Entertainment Weekly ranked this song at #20 on it's Whitney Houston: Her 25 Best Songs.

At #25 is "My Name Is Not Susan" which was the 4th US single and 3rd UK single taken from her 3rd album "I'm Your Baby Tonight". The song itself is about the lead female's lover has mistakenly called her by his ex-girlfriend's name Susan and recieves a harsh rebuke for his mistake. In the music video Whitney plays both herself and the character Susan where has has dyed her hair blonde and has several elements taken from Alfred Hitchcock's movie "Vertigo", for it's same kinda storyline where both contains a man obsessed with 2 women who look the same and there is also a rare version featuring British rapper Monie Love. In the US the song was a moderate success peaking at #20 becoming her 14th top 20 hit and worldwide again the track was only a moderate success peaking in the top 20 in Finland and Ireland, top 40 peaks in Netherlands, UK and Sweden, top 50 in Canada and Belgium and finally #57 in Germany. In 1998 the track was remixed by Snap, titled the Logic Remix and reached #52, six places higher than the original.

At #24 is "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" released in November 1995 as the lead single from the soundtrack to the movie "Waiting To Exhale", and also the last of that era's singles to feature in this countdown. The song was written and produced by Babyface and is a mid-tempo R&B ballad and lyrically the song speaks of growing up and learning to let go, and marked a change in Whitney's vocals, as becoming more mature and taking a more mellow sound. Originally Whitney didn't want to record any songs for the soundtrack and instead she wanted to concentrate on acting, but the director Forest Whitaker hired Babyface and he visited Whitney on set and played her a couple of songs and she soon changed her mind, and the idea of the soundtrack featuring African American female R&B artists only, which was seen as a turning point in music at time and the soundtrack and singles released all became a huge success, Whitney recorded 3 songs for the album and all of which became singles. In the USA it became Whitney's 11th #1 single and first to debut at the top for one week and spent 11 weeks at the #2 position, this was also Whitney's final US #1 hit of her career. Worldwide the track topped the charts in Canada and Spain and top 5 in New Zealand, along with top 10 peaks in Finland, Netherlands and Sweden. In the UK it peaked just outside the top 10 at #11 and spent several weeks in the charts selling over a 100,000 copies. The track also charted in the top 20 in Swiss, Norway, Austria, Belgium, Ireland and Australia and top 30 peaks in France and Germany. The song also won and got nominated for several awards winning Best R&B/Soul Single female at the 10th Annual Soul Train Awards, and she also won two National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People awards, and nominated for 4 Grammys and won one for Best R&B Song.

At #17 is "Queen Of The Night" which was co-written by Whitney herself and is an uptempo rock.dance track, where she rules the club scene. Released in October 1993 as the fifth and final single from "The Bodyguard" soundtrack worldwide, except for the US, but it did receive substantial airplay and reached #36 on the Hot 100 airplay, but because of Billboard rules at the time, a song with no commercial single release could not chart on the main Billboard chart, and it also became her 5th Hot Dance Club Play #1. The music video for this track is the scene in which she performs in the movie itself. Worldwide because the soundtrack had already sold so much at this point, by the time this was released most people already owned it on the soundtrack, but it still managed a #14 peak in the UK and top 20 in Belgium, and top 40 peaks in Netherlands, Ireland and Swiss, as well as charting in France, Germany and Australia with top 100 peaks.

At #16 is "Greatest Love Of All" which was originally recorded by George Benson in 1977, and was later covered by Whitney herself for her debut self titled album. One of the writers of the song Linda Creed wrote the lyrics about her struggle with breast cancer, the words describe her feelings about coping with great challenges that one must face in life. Creed herself finally lost her battle in April 1986 and died at the age of 37. Whitney's manager Clive Davis was originally against her of recording this song, but soon saw sense thanks to Whitney and Masser and the single was released in March 1986 as the seventh and final single from the album and became her 3rd US#1 hit, outdoing the original which only made the top 40. As well as topping the charts in Canada and Australia, and top 10 peaks in Ireland and UK, and top 20 peaks in New Zealand, Italy, Sweden, Swiss and Finland and top 40 in Austria, Netherlands and Germany.
