Aphrodite is a fab album for this sort of summertime, it always works as the perfect summer soundtrack for me.

It does lack standout singles but as an album in full it's strong.

Agreed for both points here. I've in fact been listening to it a lot recently with the recent spell of hot weather and it just captures those summery vibes fantastically. To be honest I think I perhaps should have given this album a 10; I suppose the only downsides were that it was safe and didn't have many possible single choices but when focusing solely on the album itself, those points become irrelevant.

I don't think I've felt so much anticipation for an album campaign to kickstart than I did for Aphrodite. I still feel a little bit of excitement whenever I see this clip:

Aphrodite is a fantastic album and in just the right place on this rate, I thought I'd rated this a 10, oh well my mistake. But on the whole I just loved this album and I remember this going to #1 in the UK and being so happy and I still can't believe All The Lovers didn't get to #1, I was so gutted coz It would have been great for her to have #1 singles as well as albums in 4 decades.

All The Lovers was the perfect lead single and Get Outta Way was a fantastic follow up and should have done a lot better, shame the other singles were messed up, Better Than Today should not have been a single, should have stayed as a decent album track and Put Your Hands Up was ok and I did like the Pete Hammond remix which was a million times better than the album version, but still again should not have been a single.

Other tracks I enjoyed were the title track which should have been a single, Too Much was great as well as Looking For An Angel and Cupid Boy, such a great collection of tracks.

'Better Than Today' would have performed better had its official release date been moved forward so that it was closer to the X Factor performance. However it probably wasn't the best choice of single anyway as I remember pretty much everyone here was rooting for 'Aphrodite' or 'Cupid Boy' to be single #3. Mind you, 'Better Than Today' getting a release did make me like it much more than I did so that's a good thing.

I don't consider 'Put Your Hands Up' as an official single, as it was just treated as a "gift for the fans" for their support that era. I liked the Pete Hammond remix at the time but in retrospect the original is much better.

8 10's not enough for you then?

i will always have a soft spit for aphrodite simply vecause the era gave us one of her best singles ever all the lovers which i adore, there was a huge buzz in the lead up to the album release which was great, solid album as a collective.

'Better Than Today' was a random album track at the most, I still don't know what they were thinking with that.

Imagine how epic an X-Factor performance of the glorious 'Aphrodite' would have been? Especially as that was the only thing they were relying on for that single's release anyway.

I read somewhere that there was some kind of contract thing with Nerina that BTT would be a single, or something like that.

BTT is one of my favourite recent Kylie singles and a bright spot on an otherwise uninspiring album. It's so bright, breezy and cheerful that it makes me smile every time I listen to it and it's just a total earworm.

I thought you thought you loved 'Closer' too? I'm sure I remember that from one of those "boot and immune" games.

NEVER EVER mention B&I's here liam  we will not sink that low ever again, not under my watch.
Ha, you copied me before I edited! I basically like 6 songs on the album, the rest is pretty crap. Closer is, of course, AMAZING. I just wish there was a 7 minute extended version for proper *.* goodness.

I have a 5 and a half minute extended version of Closer if that's any good? :P

The only real filler for me is 'Can't Beat The Feeling', the rest I can at least listen to without losing my attention.

The wonderful 'Silence' should've made the album in place of it.

'Can't beat the feeling' is more than just a filler...
