So much ATTITUDE, I love it. I can't believe they were the same band that released this and then 'Love Machine' a year later.

No Good Advice is great, totally wasn't the direction people expected from them I think. Always shocked to see it so high on these forum rates though :o

06. Something Kinda Oooh

Avg: 8.73

Highest Rates: 11 (Jay), 10 (Nick F1, Juranamo, AdamAloud, JosephStyles, Mr Aly, Niall Minogue, Umi, Lukuzz, Outstanding Mixer, Jsily, Ultraviolence, Insomnio)

Lowest Rates: 2 (Leonardo)

At #6 is "Something Kinda Oooh" which is the last of the Greatest Hits's singles to feature in this countdown. Released in October 2006 and returned the girls to the top 3 for the first time in 2 years at #3 and it was also the first song of theirs to make the Radio 1 A List gaining 20 plays per week. They also became the first British act to chart in the top 5 on legal downloads alone, and overall spent 15 weeks in the UK charts and earning a Silver disc. This track was the winner during the early rates, but slowed down towards the middle, but overall it gained 12 10's, and only 2 low rates and still managed a healthy average of 8.73.

I remember getting the bus into town and waiting for HMV to open on release day for 'Something Kinda Ooooh'. Good times.

05. Untouchable

Avg: 8.865

Highest Rates: 10 (Heezus, Liam, Juranamo, AdamAloud, Umi, JoeP, Leonardo, Doug, Lukuzz, Mike Sugafan, Davidson, Insomnio)

Lowest Rates: 3 (Jsily)

At #5 is the infamous "Untouchable" which was released in April 2009 as the third and final single from "Out Of Control" and also the last of that era's single's to feature in this countdown. This was also Girls Aloud's final release until 2012, and became their first single to miss the top 10, peaking at #11, the song was actually changed from it's original album version which ran for 6.45 and cut to 3.49 for it's release. A year later a fan created Facebook campaign was started in order to get "Untouchable" into the top 10, but only managed to re-enter at #152. Despite the song ending their 6 year winning streak, it had an overwelming responce on this rate with a massive twelve 10's and 12 8's and 9's.

Untouchable is very overrated on here :(

Something Kinda Ooooh doing much better here than in the Buzzchart

04. Biology

Avg: 8.865

Highest Rates: 11 (Liam, Aled, Ultraviolence), 10 (Heezus, Juranamo, Mr Aly, Niall Minogue, Jay, JoeP, Leonardo, Jsily, Insomnio)

Lowest Rates: 3 (Nick F1, Cameron)

At #4 is "Biology" which was released in November 2005 as the 2nd single from their 3rd album "Chemistry" and following the disappointing performance of "Long Hot Summer", "Biology" put them back in the top 5, peaking at #4 becoming their 10th top 10 hit. The song also took a different style to their previous where the song is composed of different sections and the lyric referring to "Wicked Games" was inspired by them almost releasing the Chris Isaak cover "Wicked Game" as a single, a wise move. On this rate it gained three 11's (the most so far) and nine 10's, seven 9's.

03. Sexy (No, No, No)

Avg: 9.173

Highest Rates: 11 (Nick F1, Umi, Lukuzz, J*hq, Davidson, Insomnio), 10 (Liam, Juranamo, AdamAloud, JosephStyles, Niall Minogue, Jay, JoeP, Mike Sugafan, Ultraviolence)

Lowest Rates: 2 (Leonardo)

At #3 is "Sexy (No, No, No)" and taking a more electropunk sound and released in August 2007 as the 1st single from their 4th album "Tangled Up" and peaked at #5 in the UK charts continuing their streak of top 10 hits, making this 15 at the time of release. The song also samples Nazareth's 1975 song "Hair Of The Dog" and composed of three songs welded together and avoids the usual verse chorus form, becoming one their most adventurous songs yet. On this rate this track gained more 11's than any other songs with 6, and nine 10's and only one low rate of 2.

The Show?! Really? That's probably in their bottom 5 or so singles for me...

Biology and Sexy... No! No! No! are definitely their two best

I love both 'The Show' and 'Sound Of The Underground', but both are overrated. As is 'Untouchable'. (In comparison to many other GA singles which I love even more. :kink: )

I suppose I'm here for a 'SOTU' win!

Love both but would be great to see 'The Show' win. Always seems forgotten by the public.

02. The Show

Avg: 9.192

Highest Rates: 11 (Heezus, JoeP, Mike Sugafan), 10 (AdamAloud, JosephStyles, Niall Minogue, Umi, Lukuzz, Davidson, Kellyann, Insomnio)

Lowest Rates: 7/7.5 (Liam, J*hq, Ultraviolence)

After much waiting, in second place is "The Show", which means "SOTU" is the winner, but until then we have "The Show" which in scores was just 4 points behind the winner, and taken as the lead single from their second album "What Will The Neighbours Say", released in June 2004 and again continued their success by peaking at #2 in the UK charts, held off by Usher's "Burn", this showed that their previous success wasn't just a fluke and showed that Girls Aloud were here to stay. Gaining three 11's and eight 10's and no score lower than a 7, which helped it score a healthy average of 9.192.

#1. Sound Of The Underground

Avg: 9.307

Highest Rates: 11 (Juranamo, Niall Minogue), 10 (Liam, AdamAloud, JosephStyles, Umi, Doug, Aled, J*hq, Davidson, Kellyann, Jsily, Insomnio)

Lowest Rates: 7 (Heezus)

So this means your winner is "Sound Of The Underground" the one that started it all and the one that put Girls Aloud on the map, their debut single released in December 2002, just 16 days after winning Popstars - The Rivals alongside boyband One True Voice who disbanded a year later, while the girls scored hit after hit. Originally Samantha Mumba was offered this for her comeback single, but she opted for "I'm Right Here" and faded not long after. Despite competing for a chart battle against the rival boyband, Girls Aloud trampled all over them with 213,000 copies against their 147,000 and topping the charts for 4 weeks and selling over 660,000 copies earning a Platinum disc and it's still to date their biggest selling single.

Can't argue with 'Sound Of The Underground' winning, such a modern classic!

Thanks for hosting this Ms Minogue!

Nooooooooo! Screw SOTU. Good but TOTALLY overrated. The Show deserved to win this. Such a fantastic production, still in my top 3 favourite GA songs after 10 years.
SOTU is fabulous  Would've preferred The Show out of the top 2 but it's still fantastic and a modern pop classic :D

Surprised but pleased to see The Show so high!

SOTU is a deserving winner
