There are plenty of tracks that shouldn't have DNQ'd and there's an entirely different thread for that, but this should not only have qualified but WON.

Over two years later and I still think this sounds like an obvious winner. It not really being a chart hit but still ending up amassing 45 million YT+ views helps my point, right?

I'm still confused.

Get Free YES. That was a really weird moment that DNQing. Should have at least been an easy top 10.

It's taken me quite a while to admit it but Run Boy Run was a very fine winner. Not that To The End didn't deserve to win though, it totally did, that's a tricky contest. Conquest would have also been an amazing winner, I still have that on regular rotation and it's probably my favourite Sound of Arrows track now.

Get Free DNQing is very unjust. I'm not sure if I even voted for it at the time cause I remember it taking time to grow on me and despite me thinking it's a great song it never actually made my personal chart. So yeah blame me :( Or blame Major Lazer for making the song ahead of its time.

but wait I just realised if Get Free Q'd then we'd have Flytta Pa Dej being an unjust DNQ :( so much quality!

I'll always stand by thinking Tata Young - I Believe should've won in VIII over a pretty uninspired top three. And it was so bloody close it probably could've if everyone had voted...

The Girl and the Robot was utterly terrific, but from a discovery point of view Wind It should've taken it home in XV.

If XVI was done on today's veto rules I have no doubt I'm Going For Your Brother would've walked it.

I think everyone involved at the time would agree now that Silly Boy winning (especially by THAT margin) was ludicrous. Any of Stay the Night or Dollhouse should've taken that contest.

I'll always slightly resent losing with Miss Jamaica (and it not actually becoming a hit after the fact), although the Dolly Rockers didn't exactly end up setting the charts alight either so it wasn't exactly cheap. Still felt a little uninspired though.

Your Body Is A Machine over Under The Sheets any day too.

Marchin' over Good Times. Marchin' probably would've WON any of the contests last year...

Nuclear Seasons has stood up better than Raining Diamonds, although both are great.

I kind of preferred Miss You Paradise to Colours as Emma Hewitt entries went, and Some Die Young was stunning, so I'd have taken that.

Obviously I'd have had Meiko win over Ronya, although even Obedear would've been preferable.

Oh, and Bomb winning over Moan would've been fabulous if only for keeping in the record books forever that JakeWild had sold out so much :D

I'm Going For Your Brother was ridiculously ahead of it's time, which was probably the problem there. It somehow sounds fresher now than it did five years ago, and it would certainly have more of an audience now. It was a bit of a risky song at the time because of the *gasp* male rapper!

All of those are great suggestions, iirc Botanikka's votes that were sent WAYY past the deadline in VIII (i.e. halfway through the results presentation) would have led to a Tata Young victory if I'd accepted them! Which I obviously couldn't becuase voting having seen some of the results might bias your votes to struggling favourites). Shame really because Lily Allen was an uninspired winner considering some of the gems that finished just behind, and so closely behind as well.

I'm surprised anyone could resent the 'Bring It Back' win, particularly when 'Cold Nights' was the alternative. Ghosty's first ever winner, just as he'd announced retirement as a mod, less deserving than a Lana Del Rey remix that only survived veto due to not having her name attached? Hardly.
The fact it was a Ghosty win was cool and all but that particular happening should have happened a month earlier. 'So Close' is still one of if not the best BJSC entry ever (in my time of entering anyway) whereas 'Bring It Back' is just pretty good (I actually did vote for 'Bring It Back' as well but it was rather underwhelming in comparison).

Autre Ne Veut - Counting

Jaymes Young - Dark Star

Kids of the Apocalypse - Empire

Orbital; Lady Leshurr - Wonky (and Peking Duk - High for that matter too)

All fairly recent, but the songs that beat these to number 1 were all, in my humble opinion, massively inferior and so were proper 'injustices' in the sense of the world. (Just to counterract the Syndare shade, Meadowlark was a lot better than the top 2 it finished behind that month so would probably qualify for this too  )

I echo the mention for Skall's runner ups (though they were both beaten by very good songs), but also the excellent Fall 4 U which was by far the best thing in the top 5 that month. I would've also liked to see Lindsey Stirling - Crystallize triumph in XLIII just for the sake of variety and surprise and that it, again, was better than the 4 that finished above it :(

ALL of N DNTN's 2nd places should've won because they sound so unique and memorable to me (even in the context of 2013's alt-domination). I feel like my three 2nd places have lost out to kinda average tracks, and while amazing my own winner denied Hendinia's best ever entry from victory too!

Yurpppppp

also wish shola ama - boyfriend and roses gabor - stars woulda won like

I found out that i didn't point Alida last year, and it's since gone on to be a real gem for me :o Even a single point would have been enough (and Ryan will not let me forget it B-))
It's a shame the other (infinitely better) Alida song was vetoed, because Some Of Us is middling crap. It's the worst thing on her EP by some margin.

Naughty :)

Anyway we all know this is the most obvious "should've been winner" and we might as well close the thread now.

Thank you.

Thank you.

By "should've been winner" don't you mean should've been first song to score 0 points? :)

UGH. If any song deserves the winner with the highest points total, it's that.

No because the song below was actually sent and is by far more superior!

This not qualifying when it was sent back then was a serious "WTF BUZZJACK" moment.
