Andrea Faustini - Summertime (Ella Fitzgerald) - He'll sing it well, but not particularly looking forward to the song.

Lauren Platt - Smile (Nat King Cole) - Rather bland choice and I don't think the song is going to do too much for Lauren.

Only the Young - I Wanna Be Like You (from The Jungle Book) - I'm sure it'll be a fun performance, but I'd wish they'd pick songs that were a little more mature.

Stereo Kicks - to be confirmed... - Hmm.

Ben Haenow - Cry Me A River (Michael Bublé) - Think Ben will sing it well but like Andrea, not particularly looking forward to the song.

Fleur East - Bang Bang (Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj) - Even though she's sung it before, I think it'll be performance of the night quite easily and can't wait to hear what the song sounds like with a big band.

Jay James - Empire State of Mind/New York New York (Alicia Keys/Frank Sinatra) - Very interesting choices and actually looking forward to it.

Stevi Ritchie - Mambo Number 5/She Bangs (Lou Bega/Ricky Martin) - Lol.

Be interesting to see if any of the contestants get drowned out by the band.

Tbf, Boom Clap didn't go too well for OTY :P And they're picking the songs now so it's them who think this is their lane! I like the fun vibe for them though. Admittedly it won't sell many records but I enjoy their performances.

The itunes previews/pre-orders are up - Stereo Kicks' song choice is Mack The Knife. Yawn.

Annoyingly Fleur isn't released yet and her clip isn't on there -_- Actually the clips are only up for OTY, Lauren, Jay and Ben. The latter sounds absolutely horrific....

If Only The Young survive this week then hopefully next week they can be a little more mature. I'm positive that with the right mentor their odds would have been far greater.

To be fair that didn't work well when they did Boom Clap :kink: I like the fun vibe for them, but I guess it's not something that will sell records. And also, didn't Louis say they had an increased role in choosing their songs now? So they must be happy with the direction they're going in.

Edit: all clips are out now. Fleur's sounds amazing, a reallt different interpretation of the song! Andrea sounds way too shouty for the song...

Apparently Fleur's song choice for this week "embodies empowerment". So that'll be I'm Every Woman, Queen Of The Night or Million Dollar Bill I imagine?

It's Not Right But It's Okay?

The video is rather empowering iirc? Lots of angry ladies sticking it to their cheating men! :whip:

Queen of the Night would be AMAZING for her, the shouty nature of it would suit her vocals very well, but this is X Factor so it'll be I'm Every Woman.

Oh yeah that would fit too (even lyrically, it's basically the "I'm an independent black woman I don't need no man" meme in song form )! All of these are great choices for Fleur, can't wait to hear what it is. I agree Queen Of The Night would be possibly the best though having listened to it a few times since the theme was announced. It's one of those songs by a big artist that I love but always seem to forget about until I'm reminded of it in a situation like this.

Lauren is singing a ballad arranged into uptempo :o And she's dancing (hopefully properly this time, much as I love her it was a bit ridiculous when she had a meltdown over two jerks to the side in Dark Horse ). This could be a risk but if pays off hopefully it silences the anti-Lauren brigade who moan she's always boring and has no energy or whatever... Still, maybe a risk isn't good now as I think she's liable to be bottom 2 along with the two groups and Stevi unless Fleur royally messes up (as if Andrea or Ben are ending up anywhere near).

Also I don't know why they couldn't just give her How Will I Know or I Wanna Dance With Somebody which are already uptempo if she must take a risk!

Makes sense as they still have 1 more contestant than normal at this point.
This means either SK or OTY will be gone by Sunday and Stevi on Saturday.
Yep I'd be very surprised if anyone other than OTY & Stevi left this weekend. SK are being safeguarded through the comp and the other 4 seem to have enough of a loyal fanbase to waive off the threat of sing-offs (for now).
I can definitely see a bottom 3 of Stevi, OTY and Stereo Kicks, although I reaaaaally hope OTY survive and someone like Andrea or Ben ends up in the sing-off! As long as Fleur's safe though :D
I'm not so sure SK will be safe, especially now they are on the tour, but I think they are probably a little more safe than OTY. So I expect them gone on Saturday and then a Stevi/SK bottom 2 on Sunday with Stevi gone.
That said Andrea and Lauren could both easily be ''shock'' bottom 2/3's this week too, unless they really pull it out of the bag. Basically Ben and Fleur are the only ones I think are safe.

Boys

Andrea Faustini - I Have Nothing

Girls

Lauren Platt - How Will I Know?

Groups

Only The Young - Something About The Way You Look Tonight

Stereo Kicks - Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me

Overs

Ben Haenow - I Will Always Love You

Fleur East - I'm Every Woman

Stevi Ritchie - I'm Still Standing

So just the usual choices, as expected really. Ben is gonna SLAUGHTER I Will Always Love You though... :/

Andrea Faustini - I Have Nothing - Another week, yet another Whitney song. Least he's doing the most vocally challenging ones

Lauren Platt - How Will I Know? - This could either go brilliantly (like Lucie or Sam) or rather terribly, no middle ground. Nice to hear an upbeat piece, imagine if she actually dances in this one :o

Only The Young - Something About The Way You Look Tonight - Excellent! Said this is what they should sing earlier this week. If it recaptures the magic like their first audition it could be a show-stealer

Stereo Kicks - Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me - Nothing special here, excuse for lead guy to throw a few vocal acrobatics in near the end

Ben Haenow - I Will Always Love You - On paper this sounds torturous. Can't see how he'll make this sound acceptable

Fleur East - I'm Every Woman - I just find this song boring regardless of who's singing it, but at least she'll perform it brilliantly

Stevi Ritchie - I'm Still Standing - REALLY going down the Wagner route now

If the bottom two is Stereo Kicks and Only The Young, I'm sure 'Only The Young' will progress.
