Don't know if this has been answered but the highest fake I remember was the Payphone fake that peaked around the top 15 on the singles chart, don't know what's iTunes peak was though!

That's definitely not the most recent fake to go high on iTunes, although it has gone higher than any other fake. It went top 10 on both the official chart and iTunes! As I said, Stay the Night's fake went top 30 I believe.

You evidently weren't looking hard enough. I saw loads of people mention how Cheryl was jumping on the bandwagon. Either way, doesn't mean we can't post about Guetta jumping on the Avicii bandwagon, cause he has. It's a decent song to be fair but so generic and unoriginal, so it feels very lazy in general. Who's to say it's "rightfully" stopping Taylor anyway  It's called progression, each album she's released has been less and less country-based anyway. Of course she wouldn't have been making that music when she started out. Guetta also wouldn't have been releasing this kinda thing when he started out. Artists progress, that's how it works.

Evidently. Though I look on this forum every day, so I imagine it probably wouldn't have been to the same volume. I never said anyone can't post about anything? I said it's tiring to read such comments when artists take elements from other artists all the time, it just seems that members may be purely scapegoating 'Lovers On The Sun' for the sheer fact it's dance music, which anyone can see is not well favored by many on this forum.

I'm to say it's rightfully stopping Taylor Swift, as it's my opinion.

You may call it progressing, but one way or another I'm sure she's taken inspiration from other artists, so let's all stop being biased.

'Lovers On The Sun' is totally laughable, both for its sheer unoriginality and the lyrical content. And I've liked a lot of what he's done in the past.

It was said a fair bit in the Girls Aloud forum, where the Crazy Stupid Love thread is. And that's what you inferred in your post, you were saying that we surely can't moan about Guetta if we don't moan about another track that's bandwagon jumping. No, I don't think members are scapegoating Lovers on the Sun because of the genre. I know it wasn't directed to me but the genre definitely doesn't matter imo, I like a fair few dance songs (I Got U, Gecko, Nobody To Love, to name but a few).

It's your opinion of course, you're very much entitled to it, but "rightfully" is a bit of an odd word to use, it's as if you're saying that everybody should be buying Guetta over Taylor. Fair enough if that's not what you were saying but that's how it comes across, to me at least.

She took inspiration from other artists? Just the same as anyone else these days then. Everybody must look to at least one other artist as inspiration, no? Taylor's evidently being inspired by pop artists as well as being well aware it's the kind of music she needs to make if she wants mass worldwide appeal.

I can debate on any subject until the cows come home, and believe me I would. :P, but it's difficult when certain members can't see through their rose tinted glasses.

I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with taking inspiration or elements from other artists' songs, that's the whole point of my original post. I'm saying that most artists do it, and that there shouldn't be such negative emphasis on one song if you can't admit to it being done on others.

For the record, I don't dislike Taylor Swift's previous music at all (as a person she seems a little annoying, but that's irrelevant). I actually thought it was a great injustice when 'My Life Would Suck Without You' beat 'Love Story' to No.1, as in my opinion it was the superior song. But on this occasion, I don't think the song's good enough to achieve the No.1 spot and isn't a patch on her previous material. -_-

Guys, let's face the facts. A lot of us are uncomfortable about dance music doing well because reasons. We're attacking these good dance no.1s because we're upset all the female popstars aren't at no.1. We blatantly ignored Cheryl's bandwagon jumping because we were blinded by her vagina, being the blatant Buzzjack stereotypes we are. We are choosing to act like this and just cannot see the truth of it all. Everyone's opinion should be respected so let's face up to the fact that really this dance craze is the best thing since Jesus.

As immature and unhumorous as that post was, I genuinely, and unfortunately believe that there's some truth in it.

But there isn't and your posts are all the same. Change the record please.

Please do back up your statement with some evidence as to how my posts are all the same?

As far as I can recall I haven't once engaged in any debate regarding taking elements from other artists' music etc.

Yes, but there's always SOME element of 'love these faceless dance tracks, the charts have never been better lol' in most of them and you always try to antagonise members who don't love the dance trend.

There's also often bitchy comments about how Buzzjack likes female artists and you seem to hint that people have blinkers on. It's quite insulting tbh.

Again, find these apparent posts and quote them on here, otherwise, stop talking out your backside.

I don't antagonist any members, and that's quite a serious statement to make. If any members feel that I antagonize them then let me know and I'll be more than willing to discuss such matters.

I won't be afraid to "hint" about any subjects, I'll be more than comfortable to address anything if I feel the need to.

I'm not going to trawl through posts for evidence because I have things going on in my life. There are examples in this very thread. This isn't the first time I've even had similar conversations with you so perhaps you should just let people speak their mind on things without having to rush in to save generic dance music and rubbish the tastes of others.

No doubt there'll be a follow up post from you going 'where's the evidence? When do I do that? What conversations are you talking about?'

If you've got things going on in your life why don't you wind your neck in and stop posting such idiotic posts?

One of the many purposes of this forum is for members to discuss a matter of different opinions, in which I do so. I haven't made any fowl language to other members (though it's getting extremely hard with yourself), or rubbished their opinions at all, I've discussed it with them. You're the one that felt the urge to be a "have a go hero" and stick your two pence in with your childish comment. I'm fully aware of conversations that we've had before, and we'll continue to do so if you act like a child and post such bull towards me.

Perhaps you should block me so I won't have to point out how pathetic you're being in future.

Woo lord all these essays.

On topic

Sam Smith  9

Iggy Azalea  10

Oh come on guys lets leave it at that!!

Anyway Re the highest fake I think Skyfall went quite high it am I thinking of pre orders there? I'm sure bre will know!

There are no essays here.

Where's the original Prayer In C?

Don't call me a child. I've told you what I sense from your posts and in my opinion some of them were very snidey towards members. It's fine to have discussion but I find the implication certain members are choosing to see things a certain way is incredibly insulting and it implies that you are seeing the whole picture which is incredibly bigheaded.

Stop telling me (and everyone else) what to do and how to act/post. It's so condescending and outright rude. Perhaps you should try to have a bit of a laugh and not take everything deadly seriously.

And I'm not going to block you, I'm going to continue to have a balanced view of the forum and give my opinion when I feel anyone has overstepped the mark belittling the opinions of fellow posters and judging them on their music taste.

Sorry about the essay guys.

There's a new Eminem song out on Monday called Guts over Fear, featuring Sia. Though who knows it if it will be OA/OS in the UK...

Skyfall only had the pre-order! Payphone's fake definitely went the highest, and it's the only one to make the top 10 both on iTunes and officially. Most don't get *that* high, especially recently.
