Its a strange release for Calvin/John Newman to have a pre order but then release it without a build up on the 7/9?

 

It's strange, but it's happened before I think, with songs like Adele - Skyfall, Ariana Grande - Problem (in the US) and some X Factor winner singles. I find it strange that someone would pre-order a song without hearing it though. I love John Newman's songs normally, but I'm a bit nervous about how this one will sound tbh.

One Direction put pre-orders for all of their lead singles and One Way or Another up before the song premiered. In the case of all bar WMYB, they were pretty much OA/OS also.

Looks like the Cliff Richard campaign is dying a death, down to #131!

Being basic as hell was never an obstacle for Taylor Swift unfortunately

I usually quite like Taylor Swift's music, but this new song is awful, as are all songs referring to such terms as "haters" and "shake it off"; just makes me cringe :puke2: , and has been done a hundred times before.

 

For someone who started out making such mature and credible songs, this really is embarrassing.

 

And as for it moving 'My Head Is A Jungle' down. :angry:

A Ryan Tedder written U2 song could potentially bring them back to relevance. He's really on fire right now.

 

Never expected U2 to work with Guetta. Sounds like A Sky Full Of Stars part 2 to me considering Guetta's now latching onto the Avicii sound, but we'll see.

I think Calvin & Johns names on it will be enough for it to do well upon release and the few preorders will boost it to start with. It's the sort of song that will be given a big premiere on radio and maybe made TOTD on radio 1.

 

I hope Calvin has the sense to have a video ready too!
