They are, but everything since has been diabolical.

His only real misfire imo was We Can Work It Out and THAT green jacket.

That top one is only barely tolerable because of Tone. Andreas almost ruins the entire track within nanoseconds of opening his cunty mouth

Omg I had no idea the names were announced, I need to check in here more often :drama:

I'm DYING at JTR, wtf  They came like 7th on X Factor in Australia last year (Dami Im's series) and were absolutely horrific live, you could barely hear them most of the time and that was a good thing. So random! They could very easily be a total mess and 8th placer judging by their XF performances, but then again MF doesn't always penalise the messes so who knows?!

So. Basically I decided tonight that I was going to get drunk and Re-Watch Melodifestivalen 2009.

This was when I really started getting into Melodifestivalen. This year in my opinion from 2009 - 2014 was by far the strongest. Pretty much every song in the final was flawless. There were so many gems that didn't make the final as well.

MEIN THOUGHTS.

01. Måns Zelmerlöw - Hope & Glory

I f***ing love Mens. I mean, Mans. Interesting fact, his 2007 Album "Stand By For..." was the first album in my iTunes Library to get 5 Stars!

Hope & Glory was pretty much a step above all of these tracks. Pure. Pop. Perfection. I cannot wait for his 2015 Song!

The performance was stellar. Loved all the little whores on stage singing along as well.

02. Caroline af Ugglas - Snalla Snalla

I had no idea who this bitch was. I assume her name translates to "Caroline of Ugglas" perhaps she's royalty or something?

Don't understand the lyrics to the song. But I f***ing love her Blue Boots and the emotion in her voice.

03. Agnes - Love Love Love

=O this was really at the height of her career. "Release Me" was released in November 2008, so her coming off that to Melodifestivalen must have been a big thing, right?!

Interesting Fact! This song was supposed to be a DUET with Marie Serneholt, but she backed out to have her own entry (and failed).

Her original heat performance was deserving of a place in the final - but re-watching her Finale Performance Now... ick.. She's all over the place, not singing all the words.. she's really shaky.. Damn Agnes! Pull your shit together!

SPOILER: She doesn't do well and never returns to Melodifestivalen. Also, with all the Confetti - it reminds me of Peter Kay's "Britain's Got The Pop Factor..." performance where (s)he dies at the end during the winning performance.

MOAR DRINKS

04. HEAT - 1000 Miles

I actually f***ing love this song. Something about Hair Bands and Glam Rock REALLY works for me. The lead singer has such an awesome voice. Thinking about it, if there's one genre of music I wanted to get into - it would be this.

Admittedly, this song is more Pop than Caroline's song - but still. Love it.

05. Emilia - You're My World

BITCH. BREATHE THROUGH YOUR NOSE.

Holy. Rewatch this. She's gasping for breath for the entire performance. Even at the beginning slow parts.

I remember watching this with my mom when I still lived at home. This was her favorite song.

Weakest so far, but still an 8/10. It's a pretty amazing song.

OH SHE SANG LOVE LOVE LOVE, WHERE'S AGNES?!

06. Alcazar - Stay The Night *.*

ANYONE WHO KNOWS ME KNOWS I ABSOLUTELY ADORE ALCAZAR.

TO DATE. THIS IS THE BEST THING THEY'VE EVER DONE.

FLAWLESS.

THIS AUDIENCE IS BASICIALLY SCREAMING FOR THEM.

I'd love to see them at Eurovision where they can't rely heavily on pre-recorded backing vocals. Lol. They'd fail.

I can't believe they followed this with Headlines. Ugh.

BLONDE GIRL >>> THE GAY GUY >>>>>>> THE BRUNETTE >>>>> DANNY SAUCEDO WHEN HE ACTUALLY DECIDES HE'S GOING TO JOIN ALCAZAR.

07. Sarah Dawn Finer - Moving On

Oh dear. Hate to say this because I know this song is adored.. but... I don't actually care for it.

It's a great song, but not my favorite.. and the performance is is pretty bland.

Also, bitch. Don't use the sound of a ticking clock. Nina Söderquist OWNS THAT SHIT THIS YEAR.

Also, why would you get on a stage with a circle for support, but make it part of your performance that makes you look 100lbs heavier.

Okay I actually love this song now. UGH. WHY CAN'T YOU JUST BE LYNDA WOODRUFF ALL THE TIME.

I'M ON MY SIXTH DRINK NOW BY THE WAY.

08. Danny Saucedo FT. Two Other Guys - Baby Goodbye

TWINK DANNY ALERT. Seriously, was this before he put on that amazing muscle?! He looks like Ellen DeGeneres!

The other guys sound HIDEOUS when they're not singing together, other than Danny.

I'd still bed all three of them, pending the other two that aren't Danny shave first.

Oh, back to the song. Yeah when they sing together they're great.. when they're solo it's pretty bad.

09. Sofia - Alla

LOL SECOND LAST.

I don't actually understand what happened here. She came 7th in her heat, but.. was selected by an International Jury for the final? Did that happen AFTER all the heats? It didn't seem like it at the time?

I actually f***ing adore this song. It was again, one of my favorites of the year.

No idea what she's singing about tho. Praise Alla? K.

10. Molly Sanden - Så Vill Stjärnorn

First time I've heard this song since the final.

Ugh. This bitch seems so fake.

I'm still also confused. BWO came 2nd in Heat 2, They got more votes than Molly in Round 1 and Round 2, but.. somehow this went through?

Anyways. Boring. Your dress and accessories are cheap bitch.

11. Malena Ernman - La Voix

LLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA VOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

She's a t*****, Right?

Her singing voice isn't as good as her Oprah voice too.

ALL THIS BRIGHT LIGHT IS BURNING MY RETINAS.

And no, I can't keep a secret. You didn't deserve to win.

But still. *.*

I really think the mixed potential voting with Mans, Agnes, Alcazar and E.M.D cemented Malena's win. People clearly were splitting their votes.

That's all the songs - Let's see if I have any opinions on the voting... (I'M f***ING DRUNK NOW)

Yeah, I do. What's with this Lesbian bitch giving the International Jury votes and snubbing Alcazar? f*** you.

Jury Voting:

- Yaaaas at the crowd going crazy everytime Alcazar gets points.

- What's with EMD not getting any points until the 4th Jury Vote?

- Oh, there's a guy with a black eye reading out votes.

- Måns Zelmerlöw cleaning house with the Jury Votes. But we all know this doesn't end well.

(UP 2 DRINKS NOW)

Viewer Voting:

- Agnes looks PISSED.

- 12 Points, Sarah Dawn Finer. Thought this would get a better result.

- 24 Points, HEAT, Lol yasss. PLACED.

- 48 Points, Måns Zelmerlöw ROBBED. CROWD DOES NOT SOUND PLEASED.

- 72 Points, WHY ARE THE POINTS NOT DOUBLED NOW. ALCAZAR. NOOOOOOOOOO.

- 96 Points, EMD. Why. Why did they get more points than Mans and Alcazar.

- 120 Points, Caroline af Ugglas. She deserved this.

- 144 Points, Malena Ernman, Proving the Jury Voting is irrelevant. Winner!

No way to even correct this. Even if Alcazar and EMD swapped Public Vote Points, they only would have come 3rd.

Alcazar needed to place at least 2nd in the Public Votes to win. GOD DAMN YOU SWEDISH PUBLIC.

I'm going to go throw up now.

Edited by Aaron.

SVT are broadcasting a review show of last year's contest and a preview of this year's on Saturday.

Today marks 30 days until the first deltävling!!

I'm going to Gothenburg :w00t:

Nice, enjoy Saade!

I was rewatching the 2009 final yesterday after Aaron's...review...above. Was still amazing to see that live and I MUST make it to Melodifestivalen again. There were many things I preferred about it to seeing Eurovision, namely the fact that Alcazar, Agnes, Malena, EMD, Mans, Caroline, Emilia and SDF are all incredible.

Yeah cheers Rich  I'd much rather go to the second one (MAGNUSSSSSSS!!!), but I have a friend there and it makes sense. I'll have to check if my seat is near enough the stage to throw tomatoes idk

Måns and Eric with pimp slots, as expected~

  • Author

Oh MY at some of those other choices...

Eric and Måns rounding out their heats was obvious, but there are some interesting choices there. I thought Linus was a surefire for heat two's pimp slot, but they've given it to the Miss Li cowrite, so maybe that's competitive? And they're clearly running with Jon Henrik Fjällgren - I thought Andreas was a cert for that one but I'm guessing JHF must still have a lot of goodwill left from winning Talang.

Going with a 4th placer from Idol 4 years ago seems like an odd choice to open the contest too.

  • Author
fully behind dolly style atm :o

they were formed by YOHIO hun, be careful!

  • Author
Interestingly, taking a cursory look over each heat from the last ten years, I don't think we've *ever* had a heat opened with a ballad, so either that's getting torn up or Linus is taking a different direction from every track he's done so far.
they were formed by YOHIO hun, be careful!

hun, it's a well established fact that anything with 'dolly' in the title is a winner, parton, mixture, the sheep, rockers

even mephedrone?!?!

what is dolly mephedrone? i don't follow?

It's so tantalizingly close now  Here are some pre-contest predictions from me.
