August 27, 201411 yr Strange Fancy didn't make the Alist suppose it explains the quick initial fall in the chart then once. People heard it more it's stabilised massively(although I'm aware capital have played it a lot)
August 27, 201411 yr No Amelia.... No Ella... R1 are not going to playlist Amelia. And Ella's release is also not until October.
August 27, 201411 yr Iggy Igz! :cheer: Pressed about the exclusion of Nicki tho Do you mean "Anaconda"? That won't be playlisted for another two weeks following the usual pattern. Same for Ella Henderson.
August 28, 201411 yr R1 are not going to playlist Amelia. And Ella's release is also not until October. It's not as if they don't like Amelia Lily though, she was on Matt Edmondson's show a week or two ago I believe. They could at least C-list it.
August 28, 201411 yr No huge surprises this week, a bit uneventful really. Surprised they didn't add Usher though, I wonder if they're gonna snub him? Maybe there's only so much Nicki Minaj they're willing to have on the playlist  Or maybe they've just decided there's too many similar sounding Pharrell produced tracks being added to the playlist :) Yeah it's a pretty uneventful week, surprised at Lethal Bizzle going on when its out this week and may well be off the playlist next week when it falls out of the charts. Really hoping they add The Magician in the next couple of weeks
August 28, 201411 yr It's not as if they don't like Amelia Lily though, she was on Matt Edmondson's show a week or two ago I believe. They could at least C-list it. To be honest they've had artists on Matt's show before who's singles they've not added, doesn't make any sense to me but there you go...
August 28, 201411 yr Theres loads of artists on radio 1s shows that dont make the playlist - Nicole Scherzinger being the perfect example but their songs do get some spins on certain shows.
September 3, 201411 yr Quite a few potentials for today's playlist: Calvin Harris feat. John Newman – Blame (presuming this is still going OA/OS this weekend) Wilkinson feat. Talay Riley - Dirty Love Ella Eyre – Comeback Gorgon City feat. Zak Abel – Unmissable Jessie Ware – Say You Love Me Kwabs – Walk Labrinth – Let It Be The Magician feat. Years & Years - Sunlight Meghan Trainor- All About That Bass Waze & Odyssey feat. R Kelly – Bump & Grind 2014 (Greg's been playing it a bit but I'm still not entirely sure they'll playlist it - hope they don't anyway!) Edited September 3, 201411 yr by Mango
September 3, 201411 yr Hoping for Ella Eyre, I can't be 100% after what happened with the last single but hoping they stick with her for this. Such a fantastic track!
September 3, 201411 yr Hoping for Ella Eyre, I can't be 100% after what happened with the last single but hoping they stick with her for this. Such a fantastic track! Well they made it TOTD, I know that's no guarantee of a playlist place but it's promising
September 3, 201411 yr Ella Eyre will be supported I'm sure. It's like Kids Again by Example and 5AM by Katy B, the first singles didn't smash but they support the second ones which did a lot better.
September 3, 201411 yr Are we just using this for the predictions now? Ella Eyres a strange one they will support her no doubt bu the albums not due for release until early 2015 which is strange considering shes on this yrs list of ones to watch. Hope they support Kwabs and Calvins new one apparently is getting its first play on Thursday on Gregs show!
September 3, 201411 yr Quite a few potentials for today's playlist: Calvin Harris feat. John Newman – Blame (presuming this is still going OA/OS this weekend) iTunes is saying it's expected Sunday (7th) Can't wait to hear it, bound to be decent, snippet online sound like it has potential I've just pre-ordered it for 99p with the AWESOME INSTRUMENTAL track C.U.B.A - bargain!
September 3, 201411 yr ^^What you have done shows how clever this release is from Calvin basically OA/OS but with a pre order already so it doesnt get lost then a big premiere and a b-side thats already on radio!
September 3, 201411 yr They're doing that #AAA thing with the Radio 1 playlist right now, I'll update this post with their tweets. So far: First up for discussion is today's #TrackOfTheDay 'Say You Love Me' from @JessieWare #R1Playlist. There's lots of competition this week on the playlist so the team will discuss @JessieWare further once all other tracks have been discussed"A brilliantly written pop song". "Fun, silly and different to the big dance bangers", 'All About That Bass' will be added to the playlist!"Lots of bass and lots of energy" @HudMo with 'Chimes' has been added to the 'In New Music We Trust' playlist #R1PlaylistNext up for discussion, @OfficialBenzel & @iamstevieneale 'Wasted Love' https://soundcloud.com/officialbenzel/wasted-love … #R1Playlist "A great record that grows on you more & more" but the team are going to wait & return to 'Wasted Love' in next week's meeting #R1Playlist 'All About That Bass', 'Chimes' added.
September 3, 201411 yr Interesting! Hopefully Jessie makes it, they unfairly took Tough Love off early when it was doing pretty well.
September 3, 201411 yr There's lots of competition this week on the playlist so the team will discuss @JessieWare further once all other tracks have been discussed ERM.
September 3, 201411 yr "Lots of bass and lots of energy" @HudMo with 'Chimes' has been added to the 'In New Music We Trust' playlist #R1Playlist ERM. I know. Quite shady, she's rather popular and her buzz is increasing! Edited September 3, 201411 yr by Joe.
September 3, 201411 yr I'd love to hear their thoughts on the weeks that tracks by Justin Bieber etc reach the playlist. "Well it's shit but we're supposed to appealing to the kids so we might as well add it..." Not that I have anything against some of his singles but some that they've playlisted by him define steaming turd.
