To me, the Music Week article’s wording suggests that Born This Way only just passed 1m combined directly after The Greatest Showman did, at some point this week. The article notes “from paid-for sales and streams together”, so that doesn’t imply 1m pure only for Gaga. Unless they’ve made a strange mistake. Curious~

Born This Way had combined sales of 989k in February 2017 according to the OCC.

For me Lady Gaga was the spotlight of Glastonbury 2009. Being an aged chap who doesn't Stick to the pop audio scene, she arrived for a revelation.

with ASIB coming soon we should get some updated singles and albums totals soon as the soundtrack makes the albums charts. I'd also imagine some songs such as The Shallow which is used in the trailer could potentially chart on the singles too.

I'm really hoping that she can get a top 40 single out of this.

Joanne (album) now has a sales total of 143,315.

And The Fame is on 2,995,891 so close to 3 million! :heart:

The Remix re-entered the albums chart at #195. Total sales stand at 232,453. The last figure we got for it was 166k in September 2014, so 66k in 4 years (16.5k per year).

Of the 759 copies it sold to enter last week's chart, 741 came from streaming units (+ 11 physicals and 7 downloads). Quite surprised that its streaming would be that strong.

Surely that's an error from the OCC?! Those streaming figures must belong to 'The Fame'?

Yeah, I'm not convinced either. Looking on Spotify, the streaming figures for individual songs on The Remix aren't great enough to push it back in the chart, especially when you consider the Spotify streams are worldwide.

 

Maybe the percentages for the sales breakdown are mixed up? Don't think this is the first time the sales breakdown have thrown up a few question marks.

The Remix is showing up in the midweeks this week too. Thursday midweek - #193 with 595 sales (583 streaming). Very curious. :unsure:

 

Last week The Fame was also in the chart: #138, 950 sales (105 physicals, 67 downloads, 778 streaming). A strong indication that The Remix’s presence is an error, given that its supposed streaming units are barely any less than The Fame’s.

 

I wonder if the OCC will eventually notice? It would be funny if The Remix erroneously racks up a few extra chart weeks and far more sales than it should be. :drama:
