Country artists barely get any kind of push in the UK anyway :( Blown Away (song and album) got pushed in 2012 but the song only peaked at #155. Album got to #11 so not too bad a result there! Radio 1 and Capital wouldn't touch her anyway sadly :(

I really always thought she'd be an exception to the rule. Before He Cheats was as commercial a country hit as anyone's ever likely to here and would have been huge with a proper UK push, such a wasted opportunity.

:kink:

I get what you mean though, Before He Cheats even got a re-release last year I think? Radio 2 might have jumped on board but I could be making that up.

It's a shame the country music genre's chance of success here is so small but hopefully one day we'll be saying I told you so to those country haters!

I've been blown away by the majority of what I've heard from her. The chance of country doing well here is so small but songs like this breaking into the top 40 give me hope that this will change.

Yeah true I think they did, Radio 2 seems to be the temporary home for country at the moment, after they playlisted The Common Linnets and even have Taylor on the playlist! As for Capital and Radio 1, I think there'll be some lessons learned at both stations when they see the success of this track.

 I'm glad you noticed otherwise that'd have been an awkward post. ^_^

Ooh Rich has taken it a step further! :heehee:

BHC was A-Listed on Radio 2 I think, it was on the release schedule at the time which I remember being bizarre given it was 7 years old (as a single, it was on the album 8 years ago!!) The chart needs more songs like this.

I don't see why we couldn't have a country hit, Need You Now sold really well and there was Love Story. But yeah Radio 1/Capital wouldn't touch Carrie with a barge pole so it's a crazy dream but won't be a quitter in my hope for Carrie's breakthrough.

Radio seem quite twisted when it comes to supporting country artists :( Hopefully something will change and they'll get some support!
Any further Carrie puns will be deleted.

You say you'll delete, but I know you won't ^_^

(speaking of I Know You Won't, #36 now :D)

Any further Carrie puns will be deleted.

You delete any Carrie puns I delete you :magic:

 36. Carrie Underwood - I Know You Won't

 221. RAIGN - Don't Let Me Go

I know it's just a dream but I hope one day we see Carrie in the iTunes top 10!

Not that I want her to, and not that she will but I imagine the only way her luck will change is if she does a Taylor Swift  or maybe if someone sings one of her more known songs (not that the UK know them anyway) on the lives or something.

Oh good, I was afraid somethin' bad was about to happen! :drama:

Someone singing 'Blown Away' would probably be her best chance, it's probably the most UK-friendly song!

Talking of Carrie and her only UK hit (clutching at straws here), any excuse to post this No.26 smash is a good one:
