How has this not been deleted yet?!

As Graham A explained in the Fake Songs Charting thread:

They only get away with it because the EU Law allows them to make cover versions. It states that if the original version is officially released in just one of the member countries than they are free to issue these covers.

As Graham A explained in the Fake Songs Charting thread:

I know they're allowed to, but we've seen various covers reach the top 100, which were also legal, but they got deleted too

What's not helping Meghan is that you can't preview the track on iTunes.

You can't preview pre orders, but its still top 20 and will be number one next week

It will have sales of 100k+ sadly but cover versions don't always have a negative impact I.e the year Maroon 5 released Payphone the cover went top 10 bit the original still went on to go to number one on sales of about 140k

The one good thing about covers is that it shows there is demand for a track and that held back releases need to be changed

You can't preview pre orders

Wrong, you can in most cases.

Glow, Anaconda, Bullit and Sunlight all have previews

If the Chamber by Lenny Kravitz says around the number 50 position or just above at the end of next week, he might just crack the top 40 Friday night after he performs on Graham Norton, I'm presuming he'll sing The Chamber
Gravity  Kerrianne has great taste in largely unknown songs to boost with her XF performances :P
Look out for 'Hard Work' tomorrow as it is the next instant grat from Ella's album. 'Mirror Man' reached #10 last week so this one will probably get to around #7-8ish with the extra few pre-orders that will have been gained this week.
Is there anywhere I can find iTunes #1s which weren't #1 on the Singles chart? :P

This is out tonight :drama: Never imagined this would flop that hard.

itunescharts.net has all the daily iTunes #1's since 2010, but you'll need a list of #1 tracks on the Official Chart to deduce which ones didn't go #1 on the weekly charts.

Looks like Flashlight won't even make the top 100 officially. I think it will go top 75 tommorow though before plummeting

Oops, although to be fair it is a very old song now and will already be owned by most Ellie fans. Hopefully it can at least go top 40 although even that looks a bit unlikely if the pre-order is THAT low.

was about to say 'it's out next week :P' but turns out it actually IS out tonight :o eek. Thought it'd be in contention for top 10 next week, but I guess not then

It's an awful song considering the artists involved and should never have been a single in the first place. Add to the fact that it's already been 'out there' for a year means that it was never going to be a success.

29. A Thousand Years - Christina Perri

Predictable high re-entry after being sung at least twice on X Factor today :P

Also sung more than once:

Thanks, I already have a place to get the Singles chart #1s ^ _ ^ so I just need to compare them to the iTunes #1s. How far back dies iTunes go?
