January 25, 201510 yr I thought Esmee Denters came across as confident in her banter with Ricky rather than arrogant. The fact that she has some experience of performing and being in the public eye probably makes her better able to come back with a sharp riposte than most of the other contestants. Unfortunately, some people do seem to have a problem with confident women.
January 25, 201510 yr Caught up with this today and it was crazy seeing Esmee on it! I used to absolutely adore 'Outta Here' and 'Admit It' and even purchased her album back in 2010! Like Rita said, the music business is absolutely insane for her to end up back to square one. I really enjoyed her version of 'Yellow' though, fantastic moment when all four judges finally turned round! I also adored the 19 year old who sang 'Lights' (maybe not just for his voice... haha!) and the guy with the deep voice who only Ricky turned for was brilliant too. This series has been really enjoyable so far! Ricky and Rita have really shined so far (although the whole covering her face thing and sitting next to a contestant was borderline Jessie J behaviour), will.i.am is using more decipherable metaphors and Tom isn't name dropping AS much as before (although the Wales thing needs to stop!!). As of now though, slowing down '500 Miles' is NOT original! :P
January 26, 201510 yr Don't really follow the show but just watched Esmée's bit out of interest. I would have originally thought this but I actually think it makes quite a lot of sense from her perspective and could work. She's working in a frozen yoghurt shop and is (supposedly) back at square one. She's had moderate success in the UK so it could be an effective platform for her with casual fans of hers likely to immediately get behind her, helped also by the sympathy aspect of her story. If she does prove popular on the show, still has contacts and releases something quickly, there's a chance it could catch on. Unfortunately for her though it seems her personality and interpretation of Ricky's comments rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way and now she's being deemed arrogant, affected by fame etc. I don't get it at all - she's a confident person and was clearly having a bit of banter with him but it seems on these shows you have to be noticeably humble and unassuming to make a connection with the general public. People are far too quick to judge. :drama: i am sorry i just do not buy this cliched from justin timberlake's protogee on an international contract to working in a frozen yoghurt shop?! it's funny the number of dropped acts attempting a second shot on reality programmes have always done some sort of unexpected/lowly job inbetween, you know just to highlight all that they've lost and a bit of dramatic context for the viewer's entertainment. i don't see how it will work out for her, for a start she's dutch on an english competition and it's a competition that has yet to find any resembling a star. if anything she's signed the death of her music career for good. as much as it was novel for the uk seeing her this week and the headlines writing themselves i think xenophobia, resentment will settle in!
January 26, 201510 yr He came across as a nice guy. He wasn't the original lead singer. That was Alan Barton (also sang with Smokie) who passed away in 1997. Alan Barton and Colin Routh were the two who performed on the hit singles when they were in the charts. Dene Michael took over in 1986. Black Lace - scourge of the 80's Everyone remembers Agadoo but did you know that in all they had 9 Top100 hits. Even entered the Eurovision Song contest in 1979. They actually came 7th with Mary Ann though the single peaked at #42.
January 31, 201510 yr S Club Juniors AND The Saturdays! That is really weird considering Frankie and Rochelle were in both
January 31, 201510 yr I bet she must hate Frankie and Rochelle http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/uploads/group_images/of_18_icon.gif
January 31, 201510 yr A drummer who worked with them too :drama: Getting more promo on the voice than they did their entire Greatest Hits campaign
January 31, 201510 yr Loved Olivia, the last act quite unique and different, Rita seems to have the best selection so far I think, got a feeling Olivia could go all the way.

Well what about Andrea Faustini an Italian on X Factor UK - At least you can understand Esmee who speaks & sings good English. You could hardly understand Andrea. As far as anyone resembling a star - what about Becky Hill. I voted for her until she got voted out and she's had 2 Top 10 hits as a featured artist. Also with X factor, Leona Lewis is the only winner to have a decent career and that is in 11 years. - This is only the 4th series of The Voice. Actually Esmee is the the only one I've liked on the show ever that has had any sort previous career, no matter how long or short. Edited February 1, 201510 yr by poppet15
February 1, 201510 yr It's a shame The Voice don't promote Becky Hill more. You'd think they want to advertise the fact that there's been at least one success story from the show. It would be great if they invited her back to perform on the live shows.

February 7, 201510 yr f***ing stunned no one turned for Harris. He was great. Karis was also bloody good, even though I was prepared to hate her.
