AH Gold Number Ones 1994

Even though I didn't start my charts properly until 1995 (that is compiling a Top 40), it appears I started making my own earlier than I thought. Clearing out some old boxes I found some old poorly hand written yellow A4 sheets stapled together containing a few Top 10s and the list of my chart toppers that year. Bearing in mind I was only 13 at the time, some of my faves back then weren't too shabby at all (Doop and Whigfield aside). I even appeared to be slightly ahead of my time as two big '95 dance anthems got there early in '94 for me (both originally went Top 40 in '94 but were minor hits at best - I remember listening religiously to Bruno Brookes doing the chart show in '94 - Christ, that makes me feel old! and these two particular tracks caught on with me several months before the rest of the UK caught on. I have to say I'm quite impressed with myself - yep, I'm easily pleased. (Then again, I've just noticed a comment I made about Prodigy's No Good (Start The Dance) - "rubbish, just noise!" and it appears I rather liked that Wet Wet Wet monstrosity. So I made some serious errors of judgement at least  )

Anyway, according to my 13 year old self, these are the singles I loved above all others in 1994:

1/1/1994 Bee Gees - For Whom The Bell Tolls 2 wks

15/1/1994 Enigma - Return To Innocence 4 wks

I was 15 years old :D

Bloody brilliant list - all up there with the best '94 had although I've never heard that Status Quo song before. Never thought I'd see any fellow love for 'Dreamscape '94' which I'm mystified as to how it charted so low, incredible track!!

Ok, so I may have mentioned 1994 and 13 a few too many times in that first post

I agree Billy, I still love Dreamscape - a blinding neglected tune.
