I liked Griff. Maybe not at first, but I enjoyed him over the last year.

f***ing hell guys talk about sticking the knife in. he's a kid with aspergers and essentially became the the one person who the entire forum goes after. michael is now filling that roll.

 

nothing more basic then going after those that everyone else has decided to be the basic one

 

Having aspergers doesn't totally excuse how he behaved. In fact some of his behaviour was not typical of someone with aspergers.

 

Anyway despite how he could be on here, it is in the past. I do wish him well!

Griff was a monster, simple as. He wrote extremely vile things about me all over the forum despite me never having really interacted with him.

 

I did actually used to think that maybe everyone was being too harsh and ganging up on him before that made me realise he completely deserved it.

Griff wasn't so bad and Michael (even if I don't understand his behaviour) too.

I really hope stays under his rock and doesn't decide to come back. It takes a lot for one poster alone to put you off a forum completely and that's exactly what he was. I couldn't give a shit if he has a personal issue or whatever, it gives him no reason to go personally insult practically everyone, drag every thread into the ground at every given opportunity. If he made some sort of positive contribution to this place, I'd maybe take him with a pinch of salt - but he was as miserable, condescending and contradictory as f*** all the time

 

No redeeming features whatsoever, and this "he improved, shame" is bullshit lol unless someone can maybe substantiate how exactly he became "better"

Griff is easily the worst poster in Buzzjack history, how anyone could remotely like someone as unstable, try-hard and utterly miserable baffles me to this day

 

 

It doesn't baffle me at all.

I used to think that Griff was just misunderstood, and on the occasions that we did interact he seemed like a nice guy, underneath all the bravado that he displayed on the forum. At one point he was seemingly "improving" as a poster and appeared to be getting more people on side. Then he seemed to change persona and came across as being so bitter, mean and miserable, which was a shame. Hope he's keeping well anyway.

 

This is pretty much my view on him, nothing against the guy and I loved chatting to him in private but he wasn't particularly pleasant for the few months before he vanished.

I never saw Griff's behaviour as much worse than that of some of the people who've bitched about him here. No, he wasn't perfect and there were moment I just thought 'why?' But he often tried his best to improve and a number of people would not let him redeem himself as they constantly antagonised him and so he would relapse. Others often hopped on the bandwagon. I'm sad to see he's no longer posting and I see it as a failure on our part more than anything and I can't believe some of the comments in this thread that come off as childish and immature as they accuse Griff of being. It's not like he's Michael who is so obviously trolling the forum but doesn't get nearly as much criticism for it.

Couldn't have put it better myself. It's pretty sad the way some are really attacking him in this thread, particularly since he's no longer on the forum so a) he hasn't done anything 'wrong' recently to 'deserve' it and b) cannot defend himself.

All I'll say about Griff is that I don't think it's a coincidence that this "improvement" he went through at some point was also the time when he wasn't posting much. I think it's a bit rich that people seem/seemed to rush to defend Griff all the time when he's hardly the only one people openly feel this way about.

 

(In all seriousness, I don't think he's a bad/horrible person, from what I gather he was rather nice in private convos. He just got really grating and snooty towards his last few months (basically everything I wrote about him in my rate comment))

who else ever received the same treatment as griff?! i can't think of anyone who was treated in a similar manner. the whole group witch-hunt mentality is horrible.
