Hope you're right about Kwabs. Personally, I doubt it though :(

Yes for Tchami, although only a moderate hit I've had thought (top 10)

Maybe some of these:

Out mid-January. Catchy song and sounds different and fresh; a perfect January hit imo!

DJ Fresh back to drum & bass  Released in February and should be a guarenteed top 10.

with Bruno Mars on the Mark Ronson track it'll definitely smash I think.

'Gravity' should definitely return DJ Fresh to the top 5, it sounds like the kind of drum n' bass that does well in the chart. More accessible than Flashlight anyway.

might get a few more ideas later on, but these 2 songs i could see doing well~

The Avener "Fade Out Lines"

very in-fitting with one of the current chart trends, and quite similar to Prayer In C that in that 'deep house adaption/remix of a not-too-well-known track' way. Beginning to take off in Europe, and getting a release here in mid-February. Would maybe be closer to a 'Wicked Games' level hit than a 'Prayer in C', but who knows~

Mr. Probz "Nothing Really Matters"

bit of an 'All of Me' vibe from this, and MOR ballads nearly ALWAYS sell here, so assuming this gets a single push it has huge potential imo!

I was going to bring Nothing Really Matters up too, it'll either be BIG or flop - it really depends on if radio actually support it or if he's already been dismissed as a dance one-hit wonder. It's a massive #1 in Netherlands anyway so has potential to smash here.

Fade Out Lines could go top 10 with a push but it's not giving me #1 vibes.

Another vote for Albatraoz - I think they're thinking of going for novelty outsider for Christmas #1 but I agree they should hold it back to the new year.

Marlon Roudette – When The Beat Drops Out should do well in January

I don't know about number one (or even 2015) but Cobra Starship ft. Icona Pop - Never Been In Love sounds pretty catchy and chart pop sound:

This is more something that I *want* to be a massive hit than I think will actually be one.

It has already made the top 200.

How did we do with 2014 tips?

I think I saw a thread on it recently in the forum somewhere, hang on.

How far back do the Tips threads go? And links would be even better thanks :)

I could see this surfacing and smashing at some point:

This would literally be the best thing ever. My favourite song of 2014  (possibly evidenced by my current avatar)

Edited by Dobbo

Others:

Taylor Swift - Out Of The Woods

Rae Morris - Love Again

Meghan Trainor - Lips Are Movin'

I don't even know if the first two will be singles, but watch out for them if they are.

Bloody mobile wont let me see what the titles/links to embedded videos are:(

One temporary solution I have it to view the post code by quoting it and searching for the ZID on YouTube

WALK THE MOON's 'Shut Up + Dance' (as well as currently having the BJSC exposure courtesy of Riser gooddelta) is showing early signs of blowing up in the USA and I could see it doing so here as well, it's a good bit of catchy and wide-appealing indie pop, just needs the exposure:

I was going to post that, but didn't want it to look like a spot of shameless self promotion  But yeah, there's some major hit potential in there, it ticks a lot of boxes and the video is fun and geeky which will go down well.

Its a shame Anna Sun couldn't cross over, as I thought that was a great track from them, hopefully Shut Up And Dance crosses over.

Was that ever on the Radio 1 playlist? I feel like I heard it on there but it's weird that it never made the top 75 if that was the case.

As brought up in the X Factor thread. Would be great to see this smash in UK!

Love this, love to see the track do well.

I can't remember if it did or not, it was on my MW playlist is where I originally found it and used it for UP
