December 20, 201410 yr Author After I watch Christmas classic four Christmases on channel 4, I will try and start a bit of day 4 Day 4 is looking back at 5 of my favourite ever albums (rockferry, it's not me it's you, loud, born to die, speak now) and my favourite song ever which I am listening to right now. Any guesses? :) And thanks for commenting Reindeer Froot, I'll reply to it a bit later :)
December 20, 201410 yr Author Happy Valley was a real UK TV highlight for me this year. It had me gripped and on the edge of my seat throughout! I'm interested where they go for the second series. This series of Homeland has really excited me again after I started becoming bored of it last year. They've brought it back to its peak with all the suspense and twists. Thanks Reindeer Froot  Definitely agree about Happy Valley being a UK TV highlight, I nearly decided not to watch it but I decided to see the 1st episode and I so agree about it being so gripping. Can't wait for the 2nd series  I swear I am like one of the only people who have never been bored by Homeland but this series is definitely better than the last one :) ALBUM SPOTLIGHT 1: LANA DEL REY- BORN TO DIE http://i59.tinypic.com/2wqvkhh.jpg 11 Born To Die 10 Off To The Races 11 Blue Jeans 11 Video Games [Album Highlight] 10 Diet Mountain Dew 11 National Anthem 09 Dark Paradise 10 Radio 08 Carmen 09 Million Dollar Man 10 Summertime Sadness 10 This Is What Makes Us Girls 10 Without You 09 Lolita 11 Lucky Ones Average Rating: 10.00 This is arguably one of the best debut albums of all time and is definitely one of my favourites ever. Born To Die is a haunting and beautiful album opener and Blue Jeans remains one of her best ever songs with that chorus and the 3rd verse in particular being incredibly stunning. It is always nice to hear Diet Mountain Dew while Off To The Races, Dark Paradise, Radio, Million Dollar Man, This Is What Makes Us Girls, Without You and Lolita are all great tracks. Despite being the weakest track on the album, Carmen is still really good and is an 8/10. Summertime Sadness is also amazing however the remix is better as it gives the song more life and makes the song really fantastic and refreshing. And while it is on the Paradise EP, Gods And Monsters is absolutely superb and one of her best ever songs, it is so beautiful  This album flows perfectly and it deserves all the massive critical acclaim it gets TOP 3 SONG HIGHLIGHTS 3. Lucky Ones How this was only ever a deluxe album track is beyond me as it so deserves a place on the standard edition. This is definitely one of her most beautiful songs as her voice is stunning on it and the lyrics are amazing 2. National Anthem 'Money is the anthem of success, So before we go out, what's your address?' National Anthem contains some of my favourite lyrics ever and the song works so so well and is catchy, amazing and fantastic 1. Video Games And Lana's debut single remains her best ever song and one of my favourite 10 songs of all time. Video Games is just a stunning debut and is so beautiful, amazing, fantastic and a spectacular spectacle which I just adore so much  What are your favourite songs from Born To Die? The next album spotlight will be It's Not Me It's You Edited December 20, 201410 yr by Ultraviolence1989
December 20, 201410 yr Author ALBUM SPOTLIGHT 2: LILY ALLEN- IT'S NOT ME, IT'S YOU http://i57.tinypic.com/imqnep.jpg 11 Everyone's At It 11 The Fear 11 Not Fair 11 22 08 I Could Say 09 Back To The Start 08 Never Gonna Happen 11 f*** You 11 Who'd Have Known 08 Chinese 10 Him 11 He Wasn't There Average Rating: 10.00 Lily's 2nd album is her best and is an absolute delight [and so is that amazing title ]. Back To The Start, I Could Say, Never Gonna Happen, Chinese and Him are all very good songs. He Wasn't There is a stunning album ender and is a really nice track while Who'd Have Known is a great song and the lyrics are amazing. Everyone's At It and f*** You both would have made amazing singles as the latter is so fun and hilarious and the former is really catchy and a stunning album opener. However my favourite 3 tracks from this album have to be the 3 singles  TOP 3 SONG HIGHLIGHTS 3. 22 The lyrics, the beat, the song, the catchiness, the laidbackness. Gosh I adore this song so so much  2. Not Fair The lyrics again are once amazing as Lily sings over this catchy beat on one of her best ever songs 1. The Fear 3 Simple Words For This Song: ULTIMATE POP CLASSIC    What are your favourite songs from It's Not Me, It's You? The next album spotlight will be tomorrow but please remember to check out my Weekly Christmas Chart which will be up in an hour :) Olly/Demi v Taylor v Taylor v Lana are competing in a very big battle
December 20, 201410 yr haven't seen most of those as I don't watch a lot of TV but The 100 is brilliant  very Hunger Games-like but different enough to make it not seem like a total ripoff which I love.
December 21, 201410 yr haha 22 is one of the songs that really made me love an artist and in this case it was lily allen. the lyrics are fantastic and it's so easy to listen to. love it! the fear is obviously amazing as well
December 21, 201410 yr Author haven't seen most of those as I don't watch a lot of TV but The 100 is brilliant  very Hunger Games-like but different enough to make it not seem like a total ripoff which I love. Thanks Dan  Glad to see another fan of The 100, so excited for the second series  haha 22 is one of the songs that really made me love an artist and in this case it was lily allen. the lyrics are fantastic and it's so easy to listen to. love it! the fear is obviously amazing as well Thanks Jsanta  The Fear made me adore Lily but I definitely agree with your comments for 22, it is so amazing  The other 3 albums will be up after The Apprentice Final. Also there will be no Christmas tree today, any guesses for the album cover title in Chirstmas Tree for Day 3 :)
December 21, 201410 yr Author ALBUM SPOTLIGHT 3: DUFFY- ROCKFERRY http://i60.tinypic.com/2z65zqa.jpg 11 Rockferry 11 Warwick Avenue 09 Serious 11 Stepping Stone 09 Syrup & Honey 08 Hanging on Too Long 11 Mercy 09 Delayed Devotion 10 I'm Scared 11 Distant Dreamer 11 Rain On Your Parade Average Rating: 10.00 This was the first ever album I fell in love with. Distant Dreamer is an absolutely stunning song, Rain On Your Parade is a great tune and Rockferry is a fantastic album opener  TOP 3 SONG HIGHLIGHTS 3. Stepping Stone 2. Warwick Avenue- The video and the song is just so beautiful 1. Mercy- One of the best songs of all time. Just absolutely amazing  What are your favourite songs from Rockferry? ALBUM SPOTLIGHT 4: RIHANNA- LOUD http://i58.tinypic.com/2mzfm9f.jpg 11 S&M 11 What's My Name? (featuring Drake) 09 Cheers (Drink to That) 07 Fading 11 Only Girl (in the World) 11 California King Bed 10 Man Down 09 Raining Men (featuring Nicki Minaj) 08 Complicated 07 Skin 11 Love the Way You Lie (Part II)" (featuring Eminem) Average Rating: ? :) Rihanna's best album, this flows so perfectly and contains many spectacular tracks such as the beautiful and criminally underrated California King Bed and the very catchy What's My Name TOP 3 SONG HIGHLIGHTS 3. Only Girl [in The World]- Perfect lead single as this is so infectious and I love the lyrics 2. S&M- This song is so catchy and I love listening to it 1. Love The Way You Lie Part 2- The original is one of the best ever rap songs and is superb but part 2 takes it to another level and Rihanna's haunting vocals over stunning lyrics and a beautiful instrumental makes this one of the best ever album tracks to never ever be a single  What are your favourite songs from Loud? Speak Now is coming up and then Day 4 is done :)
December 21, 201410 yr Author ALBUM SPOTLIGHT 5: TAYLOR SWIFT- SPEAK NOW http://i61.tinypic.com/euhgs3.png 11 Mine 11 Sparks Fly 10 Back to December 11 Speak Now 10 Dear John 11 Mean 11 The Story of Us 10 Never Grow Up 11 Enchanted 11 Better Than Revenge 03 Innocent 11 Haunted 10 Last Kiss 10 Long Live Average Rating: 10.0714 Average Rating Without Innocent: 10.615 This has probably turned into my favourite ever and is an absolute masterpiece by Queen Taylor Swift  Sparks Fly and Speak Now are both stunning tracks while Back To December and Dear John are so so beautiful. There seems to be a lot of pairs for me on this album based on comparable relatedness and another one is Last Kiss and Long Live which both took a long time to grow but both are really really great now. Never Grow Up also took some time to grow and is a fantastic track. Haunted is haunting and stunning while Mean + The Story Of Us are both stunning. The former has one of her best messages and I adore the lyrics and they are so inspirational and The Story Of Us is a cracking pop track and I love the next chapter parts. It is a shame that this album includes her weakest song ever, the pretty terrible Innocent [however I Wish You Would could get close to joining it as I can't warm to that track at all]. It's just a bad song with pretty awful lyrics. Thank god this is like the only song in Taylor's career like that :phew: And The Rest Are All FANTASTIC  TOP 3 SONG HIGHLIGHTS 3. Better Than Revenge- This $l*t Shaming song is just an absolute joy to listen to and it is so catchy and addictive, the instruments are amazing, Taylor's vocals are stunning and I love the lyrics 2. Enchanted- One of the most beautiful songs ever and this song is just so enchanting to listen to 1. Mine- Taylor's best song ever for me is the 1st track and lead single from Speak Now which is Mine. This is just the perfect perfect song with stunning lyrics, vocals, instrumental, video and everything else about this song is perfect. This is definitely mine favourite song from the album ;wub: What are your favourite songs from Speak Now? And Thanks For Reading These :) :) Edited December 21, 201410 yr by Ultraviolence1989
December 22, 201410 yr Rockferry highlights: Rockferry, Mercy, Warwick Avenue, Stepping Stone, Syrup & Honey Loud highlights: What's My Name, Only Girl, Cheers (Drink To That), Man Down Speak Now highlights: Back To December, Better Than Revenge, Mine, Sparks Fly I agree with you about Innocent! But surprised at the 11 for The Story Of Us, I'm not a fan of that either :o But I'd still probably call it her best album!
December 22, 201410 yr Ooh I own both Loud and Rockferry. Distant Dreamer and Delayed Devotion were great as was Syrup and Honey. Stepping Stone really deserved better than #21in the charts :( I guess it was released as the 4th single so understandable I guess.
December 22, 201410 yr Ooh, 'Rockferry'. Definitely one of my favourite albums of 2008! My favourite track from it is probably Distant Dreamer. So many great songs though. Shame it all went wrong for her a couple of years later.
December 22, 201410 yr oh wow yes loud is absolutely fantastic. i'd give 'cheers' a 10 too because it's amazing. i think talk that talk may be her best album for me but this would be a teeeny bit behind. s&m is so catchy i agree, so happy it was so big because i was worried it'd be too saucy :P  man down is incredible too
December 22, 201410 yr Author Rockferry highlights: Rockferry, Mercy, Warwick Avenue, Stepping Stone, Syrup & Honey Loud highlights: What's My Name, Only Girl, Cheers (Drink To That), Man Down Speak Now highlights: Back To December, Better Than Revenge, Mine, Sparks Fly I agree with you about Innocent! But surprised at the 11 for The Story Of Us, I'm not a fan of that either :o But I'd still probably call it her best album! Thanks For Commenting Riser  I definitely agree with a lot of those highlights and yay for someone else who doesn't like innocent :cheer: The Story Of Us was part of the original holy trinity [Mine/Mean/The Story Of Us] that got me into the album so I always have a special place for it and also because it is a great pop track which is why it gets an 11  I also still think it's her best album but 1989 is also amazing. It would probably be Speak Now > 1989 >> Red >>>> Fearless >>> Taylor Swift for me :) Ooh I own both Loud and Rockferry. Distant Dreamer and Delayed Devotion were great as was Syrup and Honey. Stepping Stone really deserved better than #21in the charts :( I guess it was released as the 4th single so understandable I guess. Thanks For Commenting Rob  Yay that you own those 2 stunning albums and Stepping Stone definitely deserved a lot better than that peak [20 places higher is what it deserved] as it is stunning  Ooh, 'Rockferry'. Definitely one of my favourite albums of 2008! My favourite track from it is probably Distant Dreamer. So many great songs though. Shame it all went wrong for her a couple of years later. Thanks For Commenting Jay  Rockferry was probably my favourite album of 2008 and great to see that you love it  Distant Dreamer is definitely up there with the best, it is so beautiful. The 2nd album probably doesn't deserve as much hate as it gets but it is just an average album that pales significantly in comparision to Rockferry, but I wish she still had success. oh wow yes loud is absolutely fantastic. i'd give 'cheers' a 10 too because it's amazing. i think talk that talk may be her best album for me but this would be a teeeny bit behind. s&m is so catchy i agree, so happy it was so big because i was worried it'd be too saucy :P  man down is incredible too  Thanks For Commenting Jsanta  Yay for another lover for Loud, Cheers is good but not 10 worthy for me as there is something about it that annoys me. Talk That Talk is probably her 2nd or 3rd weakest album for me, I just don't like it bar We Found Love. I am glad S&M was a hit as it is such an amazing song and man down is also really nice  Day 5 will be up soon with the final 10 album sales that missed the top 40. Any predictions for who lands in that zone? [and if you get a prediction right, you win Day 4 or Day 5 :)]
December 22, 201410 yr Author Albums Sales- Will be probably 42-51 Kiesza + Nicki Minaj are not in the top 40 biggest selling albums [Kiesza will probably sneak in though] but neither have finished their chart runs and sales so they won't be revealed till next week Eurovision 2014 Contest- Various Artists 180,000 2-X Welcome To The Jungle- Neon Jungle 172,270 4-6-9-X Butterfly Effect- Ashely Roberts- 158,800 2-6-8-10-X 1000 Forms Of Fear- Sia 155,340 3-8-8-6-X The Common Linnets- The Common Linnets 136,370 [8-7-X[x25]-7]-X Big Fat Lie- Nicole Scherzinger 124,720 3-10-10 The Lauren Platt Collection- Lauren Platt 121,660 3-X The London Sessions- Mary J Blige 121,460 [3-7]-X Evita 2014 Cast Recording- Evita Cast 106,630 3-7-10-X 5 of these peaked at #3 so lets start by looking at those 4. The Lauren Platt Collection had fantastic first week sales but that was it as it fell out of the chart the next week, the show I only found ok because of the music- Evita- is also another gold selling album peaking at 3, Nicole's quite weak new collection bar the amazing Your Love also lands here and Mary J Blige latest collections scores her biggest album hit here in Ultraviolenceland in years. A shock for me was Sia's stunning 1000 Forms Of Fear missing the top 40 biggest selling albums :o The Eurovision Contest compilation also features here along with Eurovision runners up The Common Linnets with their stunning self titled debut album which only peaked at #7 but went gold. One of Cameron's requested albums did end up outside the top 40 in the end in the form of Butterfly Effect by Ashley Roberts, a quite strong album that peaked at #2. Neon Jungle's first [and sadly very likely last album] sold 172,270 off the back of quite big hit Louder- by far their biggest hit in my charts. The Top 40 Albums will start next weekend as the final sales week is compiled on Sunday AM at around 00:30 :) Any Albums Top 10 or even 40 Predictions?
