'Rather Be' a song that 100% defines 2014 and is defintely going to be a song remembered in 5 years and longer to come. Rita fought a brave fight though and she wasn't actually that far away from Bandit believe it or not. Both songs spent 2 weeks at the top in the first quarter of 2014. Rita's very generic song which I don't care about that bit is what a pop song should sound like. Fun, catchy and makes you wanna dance, well that applies to both in all fairness. January 2, 201510 yr Great job on the countdown! Liking your top 10 - especially great to see Katy B and Paolo in there with some of their best work. 'Rather Be' is a very solid #1. Somehow I still haven't even begun to tire of it despite it being hammered all year. :D

Rather Be is a fantastic song, I was never really THAT huge on it when it was first out (peaked at #8 on my chart) but even so it hasn't tired on me and I still like it as much as I did when it was first out. Hoping it has secured itself future classic status now. IWNLYD is really a perfectly crafted pop song, I love the subtle chorus to the big boom of the drop. Such a shame the whole album has been scrapped because I'm sure it could've been something really special. CFNR is a stunning ballad, I love how it's unique because it has dance elements to it but even so it's just a fantastic ballad. Glad it was a success for her because she deserved another smash and a #1 album too! Timber is super trashy but reallt fantastic too, love the country aspect to it as well, it all just works so well with Kesha's vocals. Glad it was a big smash. Fantastic countdown Rob!

My EOY #1 changed a few times over the year though For the first 6 months it was Timber then in July it was Katy B for about 3-5 weeks before Clean Bandit took the reigns ;) Shame you don't love CRNR that much :( it's my fave Katy B track but then I didn't care for her at all before 2014 if I'm honest.
