On a more enlightening note, Uptown Funk being released now gives Lips Are Movin an even better shot at being a #1 in the new year :cheer:

Uptown Funk is going to have quite an annoying chart run of most likely 1-2-7(Gift cards etc.)-2-1-1 or something like that, ugh chart runs like that annoy me :( But WOOP at it looking like going there anyway, wonderful song and could well turn into 2015's Happy! (with slightly smaller sales ofc.)

It's not going to drop to #7 during gift card week. I foresee a 1-2-2-1.. chart run. X-Factor will clearly knock it down for at least 2 weeks unless the winner is really unpopular (like Sam Bailey).

It may not actually get to #1 on iTunes, as a lot of the demand has already been met.

 

It's likely to be near the top of the chart for at least a month if not several. The demand is not going to have been met by a cover version being at the top of iTunes for a couple of days (especially when plenty of people who bought that will also buy the Ronson version) :unsure:

 

Also I could easily see 'Uptown Funk' actually being one of the biggest beneficiaries of the gift card effect, recently released hits often are and Bruno Mars has done very well from it in the past.

If anything Fleur's performance of the song will only help it more. I don't think her version will eat its sales at all.

Oh 'Thinking Out Loud' has had a massive boost in the last update (Royal Variety Performance I presume). Up from 0.5450 to 0.7463 and back up to #4. There goes any chance of Oliver Heldens outcharting him :lol:

 

Demi's performance of 'Let It Go' hasn't put her version back in the top 100 yet and only pushed Idina's up a few places to #20. Ed just getting a much bigger effect because he's Ed then.

I suppose Fleur will be off iTunes #1............. until next week!
