December 14, 201410 yr Looking back on the previous couple of pages... can I just say that I really don't think Ben is *all that* looks wise? Of course he's not unattractive, but if I'd seen him on the street pre-fame I definitely wouldn't have felt the need to look twice, far less the need to do this: http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/17dehp2n9ucexgif/original.gif Lol. In general I always feel like the looks of men are overblown when they enter these talent contests. A simply "not bad looking" man is somehow transformed into some kind of sex God. I mean goodness, even James Arthur was considered to be incredibly hot by some while he was doing well in his year.
December 14, 201410 yr Kelly was such an underrated judge imo. I thought she was great she gave constructive comments and seemed to really care about her acts and treated the show seriously looking for TALENT whilst having a great personality I think she was much suited to the US Factor though she was great on that and should have been on it from the start. December 14, 201410 yr Kelly was definitely underrated, I enjoyed her stint as a judge. It seemed that she fell out of favour in the week she was ill, when she did a live phone-in at one point in the show. People thought she was faking it and then she was ridiculed by some. for the purposes of factual accuracy to the moment, mel has been replaced in the subtitle *.* Reminded me of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijo38nqOd-0&t=3m44s (Source: Lex ~)

I say this as someone who finds Olly Murs to be the most attractive man on earth (except maybe Dan Osborne), but I think this is true with celebs in general. We're exposed to them so much they seem more attractive than someone who we see on the street once. I get that in tv shows a lot, when I watch more episodes and see more of the character or actor, I fancy them more than I would do if I were to just watch one episode.
December 14, 201410 yr I still don't understand the love for Nicole as a judge, she was the most boring person imaginable for a lot of her first year until the producers evidently told her she needs to actually say something remotely interesting, then we got shamazeballs and getting up on desks which for me was utter cringe. It is even more cringe as it is obvious that isn't who she is, away from X factor now she is very well spoken and generally normal. Whilst Mel B is gobby, harsh and attention seeking that is Mel B, it is who she was in her Spice days and since. You either like it or don't but you know it is her through and through.
December 14, 201410 yr On the subject being discussed on the last couple of pages, this forum is so completely biased towards any female on a type of show like this. There have only been 3 true stars who have made a big career out of X factor, Leona, Olly and 1D. There's also Alexandra Burke and to an extent Diana Vickers' first album campaign. And just because a lot of members are supporting Fleur, doesn't make it a bad opinion or a 'biased' one.
December 14, 201410 yr Ben is fine looking. But I think by now we know he is about 10 years too old for me at least. Plus he has a personality I would probably struggle to deal with for more than a quick, disingenuous, pleasantry.

December 14, 201410 yr There have been quite a few stars, of varying degrees, from the show. I mean Same Difference sold nigh in 200k of that first album (granted when the show was at its zenith). But Buzzjack being biased to females is no surprise, but I'm under no illusions as to the fact that she probably won't win or be hugely successful after the show. She is still the only one with any prospect of being musically interesting though.

He is so average looking imo. Nothing remotely special about him. Ben is 10/10 for me :) Looked absolutely stunning in his suit singing with Ed last night. I do agree about celebs being hailed as more good looking than they are just because they are famous though but not in Ben's case.

He is much better looking in person as well, than on TV etc.
December 14, 201410 yr People seem to forget JLS had a million selling album too. And a few #1s. Shayne Ward was also pretty big for his first couple of eras and his winner's single is still one of the best-selling, I've never really understood why he's bundled up with the "flop male winners" category. December 14, 201410 yr Olly had get better with age. He is much better looking in person as well, than on TV etc. I've always assumed his attractiveness is more about his demeanour than being good looking. But I've never got him at all so.... His popularity seems to be because he is so ordinary and people can relate to him.
December 14, 201410 yr Shayne Ward was also pretty big for his first couple of eras and his winner's single is still one of the best-selling, I've never really understood why he's bundled up with the "flop male winners" category. Matt also had a million selling single, Platinum first album, top 10 2nd album and top 20 3rd album. Matt having a top 20 single and album in his 3rd album era is something those popstars like Alexandra and Diana Vickers would give their left tits for.
December 14, 201410 yr X factor trying to look amazing with a not so amazing car, kind of sums things up.
