 1. Mark Ronson - Uptown Funk (feat. Bruno Mars)

Sam Bailey was knocked off the top of iTunes on mid Friday (by Happy).

Ben's already sold like 40k more than her up until weds mids though, not really comparable.

Indeed Mark Ronson will have 16k streaming sales which will half yesterdays 33k lead but he will have to move 30-50% ahead on itunes in the next 24hrs id say to have a chance. Who knows what Bens physical sales will be like?!

But about 5k of those will already have been accounted for in the mid reports we've already had through, the streaming doesn't get added on in a bulk lump at the end of the week.

They're pretty comparable, they're both xfactor winners, they were released at the same time in their respective years, they had physicals out etc.

LOL Ok then but its hardly the same as he sold a lot more copies more quickly so its hardly a negative to fall to #2 quicker if he sells like 100k more copies by the end of the week. UF is selling very strongly in its own right and Happy clearly wasn't selling as strongly as with Sam's lesser sales would have overtaken long before Friday....

He's has better appeal than Sam bailey and clearly now has physicals to support him by the end of he week. He'll go #1 with sales more than Sam Bailey but what n4yr was trying to point out was that he's a little more front-loaded (I think) which is correct. He wasn't being negative towards Ben, just pointing something interesting out.

OK fair enough :) I get the with the boost after the show XF single will always be front loaded, as always it depends how it holds up later in the week and beyond. UF may be #1 at the moment but if Ben doesn't fall completely away he will still be selling well behind it hopefully. Maybe I took it the wrong way if so I apologise.

The physical is the great unknown at present. It may sell like Band AId 30 or may surprise us. I expect Ben to have moved so far in front today that he is unassailable for this week at least.

Don't worry it happens, he is definitely heading for #1 this week as I can't see how Uptown Funk will be able to outsell it in 3 days, especially with physicals supporting the former.

Waves at 59p  iTunes have some serious TASTE going on. Hope it stays that way over christmas so it can get a massive gift card effect and return to the top 40
Leona seems to be on the up again. Shame that it doesn't look as though she'll chart in the top 40 this year. Hopefully once OMS becomes more established and she's back in the limelight then it will do better but I'm more than pleased with its success this year. Heart, Radio 1 and Radio 2 getting on board is great.
Jessie J's Masterpiece is currently 9 on i tunes in the US..is Sweet Talker and official single over here?where is it on i tunes here..or is there no official second single in the UK..

Thanks :) And hoping you are right.

'Sweet Talker' is the current single in the UK (and thankfully bombing at the moment, at #212).

Great to see Leona on the up again. Hopefully it'll be able to crack the top 40 on iTunes come Christmas Eve at least. I think it's done great this year as it looks to get 3 weeks in the top 100. Fingers crossed that it'll be added onto compilation albums next year as I think that's the main thing that let it down.

pre-order update

35. Wish You Were Mine - Philip George

162. Heroes (we could be) [feat. Tove Lo] - Alesso

317. Lips Are Movin - Meghan Trainor

353. Promesses (feat. Kaleem Taylor) [Radio Edit] - Tchami

424. L.A.LOVE (la la) - Fergie

473. Flutes (feat. Lethal Bizzle) - New World Sound & Thomas Newson

774. Cool Kids (Radio Edit) - Echosmith

Wow at 'Wish You Were Mine' cracking the top 40 on pre-orders :o Perhaps Ronson's weave is not so secure after all... (probably still is).
Jessie J really bombed worldwide with 'Burnin Up', she's somehow managed to mess up this era despite 'Bang Bang' being massive.
Urgh her video is so American sellout. She made a big fuss of 'Who You Are' and then comes out looking like a plastic barbie after the US industry got a hold of her

Wow Phillip George could be big now!! Though I'm sure the gift card effect will push it well down the top 100 again. It's usually 10-15k for a top 40 place without streaming could be higher this year and I can't see the dance track smelling more than 50-70k max!

Xmas songs back on the rise from now until Xmas eve
