iTunes doesn't freeze during the gift card effect anymore. It didn't last year. Guess they finally fixed whatever was causing it.

Yaaasss THE HOLY TRINITY

I don't think I'm Not the Only One, Sing & Blame It On Me will be top twenty, though.

Expect astronomical sales for X yet again this week then :o not a huge fan of him but credit has to be given to him for handling this era perfectly

Wow Ariana has hugely benefitted too *_* Hoping Love me Harder can crack the top 50 now it's sitting outside it.

+1

Ed and Taylor and their management need to give out lectures and seminars to their lessers on how to promote and manage an era properly and flawlessly.

I've just purchased 'X' and 'Never Been Better', I'm expecting both to be top 5 this week with incredible sales.

02. Taylor Swift - Blank Space & 40

10. Meghan Trainor - All About That Bass & 22. [Looking likely of climbing in the charts this week then :o]

13. Ed Sheeran - Don't

15. George Ezra - Budapest

18. Idini Menzel - Let It Go [Expected this to go top 10 but it's going the opposite way!]

47. Nicki Minaj - Anaconda

50. Ariana Grande Feat The Weekend - Love Me Harder

64. Fifth Harmony - Bo$$ :o

'Bang Bang' seems to have had the biggest boost though!

19. Jessie J , Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj - Bang Bang

35. Jessie J , Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj - Bang Bang

There's no Xmas day TOTPs thread this yr so I'll just say here MNEK sounded good on Ready for your Love there

Hope he breaks through next yr!!

Band Aid 30 still 26 and Ariana actually up to 42 with her Xmas song but the others are falling in Real love by Tom!

Seconded. He should be massive eventually.

Wasn't 2014 supposed to be his breakthrough year? Wrote A Song About You flopped massively I was expecting that to be his big hit...

I'm happy Blame It On Me is getting a slight boost but as for the rest :puke:

The gift card effect doesn't seem to have had as big an impact as in previous years but there's still tomorrow and Saturday to go...

Extremely shocked that the GC effect isn't doing anything for Idina, I was expecting to see Let It Go top 10, maybe even top 5 :o

Just downloading Frozen - Google Play don't make it simple to download an album to your computer, do they?!

I don't think the gift card effect ever really has much of an effect on year-old hits, admittedly I thought Idina might have got a good lift from it as well due to it being back in the charts recently but I'm not that surprised at it dropping. It may start to tail off quite rapidly now as although it's not a Christmas song it's probably a bit associated with Christmas via the film. Or it might just continue to pollute the chart continuously for another year or seven. That's what it seems to do every other time it drops.

Top of the Pops seems to have put Ben Haenow back up to #2.

That song was too unorthodox I think to be a "big hit", a little too experimental in sound. Compare that to Money On My Mind for example and you'd see the difference. Also failed to get any substantial radio backing.

I think 2014 was SUPPOSED to be his break-out year, but I think he needed one more BIG collab to cement himself. Sam Smith had Latch and La La La, while Becky Hill has Afterglow and Gecko so she should do well in 2015.

Could race also be a factor? I would rate MNEK, Jacob Banks and Kwabs as talented as Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and George Erza, yet which group has more support? I think record companies, subconsciously, see them as "safer" options.

I'm guessing 'Let It Go' will climb back into the top 15 at least following the documentary on channel 4.
