November 26, 20159 yr http://www.josepvinaixa.com/blog/fleur-eas...and-flashbacks/ New song 'More and More' can be heard here. I really love it but it's definitely my least favourite of the three we've heard so far. Has a Jackson 5 meets 'Black Magic' feel to it for certain.
November 26, 20159 yr WwRM5KkY-78 Love the way she made Alanis fit in so seemlessly. She totally butchered YOK, urgh.
November 30, 20159 yr Any predictions of first week sales? For some reason I can't see the success of 'Sax' translating into many album sales. Thinking maybe a 30-35k debut and with Christmas sales sitting on around 80-90k by year end? I can see a second single really helping sell it.
November 30, 20159 yr I really can't see her doing too much with the album. The tracks from the pre order haven't done great things. I'm thinking a #14 sort of debut. Whether it continues to sell and get a peak later, I have no idea!
November 30, 20159 yr I'm thinking similar to Ben - 8 - 10 region, it'll drop pretty quickly I'd imagine but might pick up in the new year if she has any single followup success.
November 30, 20159 yr Her album is hard to predict! It's been doing quite well on Amazon pre-orders, Top 100 for a while. I hope she at least manages low Top 10.
November 30, 20159 yr I imagine top 15, with solid sales and maybe a 60k total by the end of the year. If she can go gold and bag another couple of hit singles then I reckon that qualifies as a success, especially for a latter day X Factor runner up.
November 30, 20159 yr I do really wish they would have held back the album release tbh until next year release another killer single then have the album come out . Edited November 30, 20159 yr by troylovesmusic
December 1, 20159 yr 'Baby Don't Dance' is the final promo single. 4/4 so far, that sample is so perfect. http://www.popologynow.com/2015/12/01/new-...aby-dont-dance/
December 2, 20159 yr Sounds so good from the DS review! Can't wait to hear it. http://www.digitalspy.com/music/album-revi...-listen-review/ "10. 'Tears Will Dry' Although this feels like the darkest moment on the whole album, it's also a brooding electro-pop bop that echoes some of The Saturdays' finer gems. "Don't get calling when you're feeling lonely," Fleur defiantly warns as she hits the tiles to - in the wise words of Taylor Swift - shake it off. It's a bit of a dip before the grand finale, but not disastrous by any means." THE SATURDAYS' FINER GEMS *.* *.* *.*
December 2, 20159 yr Baby Don't Dance is amazing!! That middle eight. I'm really excited for 'Paris' despite Digital Spy's comment about it.
December 4, 20159 yr First listen rate: 11.0 Sax (obviously) 10.0 Breakfast (been on repeat since when I first heard it, so joyous) 09.5 More and More (grown on me so much, would love it as a single. that outro gets me everytime) 10.0 Gold Watch (some may think it's Sax part two but it's so wonderful. must be a single) 09.0 Love Me or Leave Me Alone (okay, i love the change up of tempo here. very Suga Mama by Beyonce which i love, that rap is so fab) 06.0 Paris (meh, i'm not sure, it leaves me slightly cold. i can see where they were going but i think it could of been executed so much better) 06.5 The Room That Food Is Prepared In (i really like the pre chorus but i feel like the instrumental on the chorus is far too busy and ruins it. the tina turnup parts are killer though) 05.0 Over Getting Over (what is this massive dip from the first 5 flawless songs all about? another song that the production is completely pants) 08.5 Baby Don't Dance (return to form. love hearing her on something more urban) 09.0 Tears Will Dry (understand The Sats comparison but it's so much better than anything they would release, this is GA quality at very least. complete surprise but a pop anthem still) 07.5 Never Say When (reminds me of 'Never Too Much' by Luther. great retro vibe but maybe not the most memorable) 07.5 Like That (not the strongest chorus but verses are great & it's much better than some on the standard) 08.0 Serious (best vocal performance on the whole album. nice and catchy, great vocal and perfectly produced) 08.0 Know Your Name (serve me that reggae influenced bop. 3 weak songs on the standard and yet 3 more than strong deluxe tracks, oh Fleur) 07.0 Uptown Funk (obviously i think her version of UF is better than a 7, but rating it low as there is no need at all for it to be included on here) 08.5 Girl On Fire (lovely cover and shows she can really sing) Overall, I am very happy with this album and it is full of bops. I don't know if i'll be listening to it much from beginning to end, instead just choosing what songs I fancy from it I can see. From the first 2 or 3 songs we heard I thought it could be one of the best albums of the year, and although it definitely doesn't quite reach those heights, it is a great and massively fun debut.
December 4, 20159 yr The album is such a throwback! I'm quite impressed with it after my first listen. A suitable number of bops.
