But of a clear out this week....although Ed is still there

Good to see them support Mike Mago. Hope 'Outlines' can do a Blonde at the very least. Also good to see them continuing their support for Kodaline and Indiana's re-releasing Solo Dancing?

Shame for '2 On', I was really hoping it would have at least a week on the A-list. Its re-release was kinda lost with Christmas, I think it had the potential to do a lot better.

But the re-release of 'Solo Dancing', that's annoying. It was frustrating that this song didn't make the top 10, but 14 is hugely respectable for her as an artist, and she won't go anywhere near that now streaming is involved. Sometimes I feel as if artists are just re-releasing because they don't feel confident on newer material.

I LOVE PVRIS 'My House' glad to see that climbing. And it's good to see Jessie Ware on the A-list. Also, I hope 7/11 starts to rise a bit in the charts, now too.

i am shocked radio 1 are continuing to support indiana. to re-release your biggest hit before you've even put the album out; it's clutching at straws and to me sort of goes against r1's remit to me. couldn't that spot be taken by someone else new with actual potential?
Good to see them support Mike Mango

I'd love it if he was actually called Mike Mango :P

Can't say I'm too excited about any of this week's additions. I can sort of see why Catfish & The Bottlemen are re-releasing 'Kathleen' but Indiana re-releasing 'Solo Dancing' is just the most pointless thing EVER. Oh and 'Thinking Out Loud' really needs to go now, I wish they wouldn't playlist songs to death.

Just spotted that Rae Morris has been A-listed this week :D she really does have the potential to be the new Ellie Goulding.

:kink:

So I take it this playlist is for this week, with next weeks being published on Wednesday as per usual? I'm sure they did this last year too.

looks like it's basically just the additions that were posted in the TOTD thread a while back~

so I guess they're re-releasing Solo Dancing after all then? lord knows what's going on with this album campaign. though I suppose if they're actually releasing the album in january, crawling back to the 'big hit' of the era is probably their safest bet at this point (i can't imagine 'Only the Lonely' would've done anything)

yay for the Mike Mago and Majestic/Jungle 70 additions!

I could swear that this is the third time 'Solo Dancing' has been on the playlist. I'm sure they've already re-released it. And no it's not 'Heart on Fire' I'm thinking of.

Nope, just checked and it was only playlisted last March (reached the B-list). I think it's just one of those songs that sounds like it's been played a lot, if you know what I mean.

So pleased for Karen Harding! :D
REALLY happy that 'Outlines' did end up making it on the R1 playlist, such a good tune and really should be massive. Seeing Majestic/Armand Van Helden and Karen Harding on the list is also great considering I love them both, too bad '2 On' didn't really do anything on it's re-release.

Mary J. Blige still going strong on the a-list there  sad it's not helping at all.

'Solo Dancing' actually being re-released, mess. I actually really liked 'Heart On Fire' and thought it sounded like a hit so not really sure what happened there.

Good to see Chris Malinchak still getting support, another chance there for MNEK to make some sort of breakthrough as well. And hooray for 'Creeping In The Dark' being added, I do hope it climbs onto the main playlist though as I'd love to see it become a hit.

Superb week for additions ~ Chris Malinchak/MNEK, Indiana (again!), Karen Harding, Madeon/Kyan, Mike Mago/Dragonette & Majestic/Jungle 70/Armand Van Helden in one week!!! :bounce:

This week Catfish and the Bottlemen, Chris Malanchak Ft MNEK, Indiana ( Solo Dancing  However good song) , J.Cole, Karen Harding, Kodaline, Mallory Knox, Mike Mago & Dragonette and Jack Garrett for me this week

Also glad to see PVRIS moving up the playlist

YAAAAS at Jessie Ware being taken to the A-List; Justice for Tough Love!!

Shame about Tinashe dropping out.. UK radio needs to give her more support

I wonder if '2 On' not really doing much will prevent Tinashe from getting continued support in the future. Or will she become an artist that is regularly playlisted despite never really scoring a hit.

Go Jessie Ware and Rae Morris (no doubt she will be played to death this year)! Don't get the whole re-release of so many tracks - was Kathleen not A listed first time round?

Surprised Alesso/Echosmith aren't A alisted!

Anyone know if they've started the TOTDs again this week?

EDIT just seen the TOTDs topic :)
