It's been a long time since the Sugababes actually released an album (5 bloody years!!!) and the stuff they're best known for is now a decade or more old. Which makes me feel like I should be purchasing a funeral plot in the near future.

So we've decided to do a series of threads to help newer and casual fans discover some of the hidden gems from the girls back catalogue! Over the next few months we'll delve into all 7 albums, the solo material for each girl (even the unreleased stuff) and look at the B-Sides, Live Covers and general rarities. Beginning with 2.0 because it's the highest selling and what they're most famous for we'll go through this line up in chronological order which means Angels With Dirty Faces is up first!

Aside from being a 1938 gangsta movie, Angels (aka AWDF) was the Sugababes first commercially successful album while still keeping the critical acclaim of the bands debut.

Angels charted at #2 on release in the UK and stayed in the top 3 a further week on it's way to selling over 900,000 copies.

Tracklisting:

01 - Freak Like Me

02 - Blue

03 - Round Round

I'm having such a Sugababes day today. Been listening to 2.0 material for a couple of hours now. no better way to spend the day

A good plan for a Sunday much?! I'm jealous I didn't get to spend my day doing the same.

As for AWDF the final verse thing by Mutya in 'Just Don't Need This' I LOVE  the 'I go, wherever I know that you won't go' etc

I'm such a traitor 'cause I'm listening to GA at the mo. Might put this on in a minute.

This album is so good and it's my second favorite Sugababes album now.

(I also really like the Tricky album of the same name.)

lol it's not THAT awful.

+ it's interesting to hear an extended version of Heidi's middle 8.

If I had to rank the songs on the album from worst to best:

SWITCH

BREATHE EASY

NO MAN, NO CRY

FREAK LIKE ME (really gone off of this lately, not that it's bad by any means but I've heard it way too much)

STRONGER

SUPERNATURAL

MORE THAN A MILLION MILES

BLUE

VIRGIN SEXY

SHAPE

ANGELS WITH DIRTY FACES

ROUND ROUND

JUST DON'T NEED THIS

I know right! I'm making the most of my free weekends before I start back at my courses by doing absolutely f*** all.

YES! It's just marvellous and so well done.

The best one for me is More Than A Million Miles and the Keisha 'rap' "tell me what happened to our quality time"

Well this is awkward

I did my rank from worst to best so 'Switch' is my least favorite on the album. But it's still enjoyable :P

And that teaches me to read things fully before I comment :drama:

Shape just looked so natural at the bottom of a countdown I just assumed

I remember buying this when it came out and aside from the singles my faves were Virgin Sexy, Switch and Supernatural
AWDF is phenomenal up until Virgin Sexy. Everything during and after is horse shit.

Woah! Even MTAMM :o

'Shape' is wonderful  especially the single version.

The one thing we will probably never agree on!

For me there are some wonderful vocals on it, the verses are completely free from flaw and the way they are delivered is superb. Mutya's bridge 'You can easily gamble your life away, second after second...' it's truly so far beyond spectacular its unreal.

However.

The chorus is just so far beyond dull it kills the song for me. Then there's the male backing vocals :puke: no tyvm. They are too loud and don't blend that well with the girls I don't think.

:o I always thought they go well together.
