RTVSLO have today announced the details of Slovenia’s national selection for Eurovision 2015. This season, EMA will comprise just one show with a maximum of twelve songs, according to the national broadcaster’s statement. A maximum of six finalists will be chosen from an open submission procedure outlined below, in addition to six entrants that have been invited by RTVSLO.

A call for entries has been made, with submissions open from now until 21 December. An expert panel will select the six songs which are “most appropriate”. As is usual at EMA, a superfinal duel between the top two will decide who gets the ticket to Vienna. This year, RTVSLO are reverting to the process used in 2011, where jury only selected the two superfinalists and public vote only selected the winner.

Well, 12 songs is pretty nice and cosy for a nation that will surely have at least one great track among them. Let's hope they emulate and exceed Tinkara's performance last year.

Although the article you gave me is obviously QUITE old Ryan.

I really grew to love 'Round & Round' last year, it was the one song that was really elevated by the stage for me.
Slovenia are utterly flawless and this is the one nation after Sweden I can't wait to hear an entry from.

It really came alive live didn't it! I think it ended up as my second favourite semi final 2 performance on the night.

"Round and Round" was one of the very few entries I kept going back to months after the contest. Superb track which sadly didn't stand a chance on the final. I have an utterly random bias towards Slovenia so I've got a very close eye on them this year for another belter.

Slovenian broadcaster RTVSLO has decided to use the successful EMA format once more. Today, they revealed the participants.

Eight acts will compete in EMA. One of them is Martina Majerle, an experienced Eurovision backing singer and lead singer in Slovenia’s 2009 entry, Love Symphony. Maraaya is a duo consisting of Raay (composer of the 2014 Slovenian Eurovision and Junior Eurovision entries) together with his wife Marjetka. Jana Šušteršič is a former winner on Slovenia’s Got Talent. The full list of participants can be found below:

Alya & Neno Belan

Clemens

I.C.E.

Jana Šušteršič

Maraaya

Martina Majerle

Rudi Bučar

Tim Kores-Kori

The songs these eight acts will sing are not public yet. EMA 2015 will take place on 14 February.

Martina! :o Hope her song is good!

Jana Šušteršič just won Slovenia's Got Talent 4 at the end of 2014. If you remember, Maja Keuc was Slovenia's Got Talent 1 runner-up.

Rudi Bučar is in recent years a big favorite of the juries, so don't be surprised if he is in the TOP 2.

All 8 acts will perform and then the jury will pick 2 that the audience will be voting on.

Nothing will ever beat No One by Maja Keuc *.* What a song.

Maraaya has just clicked with me, would be a great choice for Slovenia - and so would Jana! I haven't heard the rest though so maybe there is some more hidden gems.
And Maraaya wins after beating Rudi in the superfinal! :D

Well, this is rather brilliant, isn't it? Hope that can get Slovenia a decent result finally, they fully deserve one.
Slovenia are flying up the betting odds, down to 16/1 already!
This is my 6th ESC and this is the 6th Slovenian entry I have utterly adored. They are the only nation to have a 100% strike rate for me.
I'm shocked that someone else other than Iz actually likes that horrible 2010 entry. :o Aside from that though Slovenia have been amazing for many years now!
