in all honesty radio 1 have become partners in a rotten relationship with record labels and how popular music works. it seems that once an act garners approval from high up at radio 1 they stay with them even when it is quite clear the public haven't taken to them. indiana is a perfect example; it's all good and well having her to play 'innuendo bingo' by why are you replaylisting to a list a song that's already made the a list and gone top 20 before when you haven't even yet got that debut album out and know nothing else will sell. likewise with bipolar sunshine. the only new blood often feels like it comes from the sound poll which is all internally manufactured. it wouldn't be so bad if radio 1 wasn't under a publicly funded where they are supposed to bring the best new music to people, not propping up favoured acts no matter how the public has or as is often the case, has NOT taken to them.

i know it's the done thing to knock radio 1 and i know this new year is particularly stale but still, something is going to have to give with record labels soon because this turgid pattern can't go on much longer (except it will undoubtedly do so over the year) and we will see this playlist repeated (for the most) later in the year with more re-releases and re-re-releases...

I in part agree with the point about radio. Thing is I was going to buy Indianas album but this re-release has put me off it. There can't be much else worth releasing off it if Solo Dancing is being promoted again. The label clearly didn't realise the popularity of it first time round or they would have released the album after it!

The A list is soooooo dull for me...except lovely Kodaline. Didn't expect a huge hit from these guys. And Hozier, of course - i'm STILL in love with it.

Don't understand Mary J Blige's longevity. Even guys from Disclosure can't make her songs successful.

Shaaaaaame for Alesso, Tourist & Tchami - i wish they were here...erhm...at least for 3-5 weeks.

It's great to see Sia, Kanye and Joey added. But there is a little question - do you remember 'My Valentine' from sir McCartney? I wonder why this LEGEND was skipped...

p.s. felt in love with Four Faces by While She Sleeps *_*

p.p.s. and nice one from Ekkah band too.

p.p.p.s. where's mr. Sheeran? :D

Great to see my favs Kanye and Sia on the playlist! I was worried they'd wait too long before adding Elastic Heart and it'd have already fallen too far to impact into the top ten.

Pleasantly SHOCKED that they've kept Jessie's 'You & I' on the playlist. I love Jessie but it's really kind of flopping considering it's been on the A-list two weeks now. It's like #300 on iTunes. They took 'Tough Love' off the B list after the midweeks revealed she was about to have her top 40, so odd.

I'm a bit surprised No Type is on the playlist. :o

So am I :o

Great to see Joey Bada$$ and Stormzy added too plus George the Poet.

Nice additions for George The Poet, Joey Bada$$/Kiesza, Sia & Stormzy~
