April 21, 201510 yr This feels a bit... soulless to me. Nothing awful but I can't get into it having it a few listens. I agree it's very disjointed, seems like a buzz single sonically not the big lead. Like I said, nothing awful but it feels a bit meh to me that he's chasing trends like this.
April 24, 201510 yr ^ I actually really like this. I've not paid much attention to Adam before now, but this has grabbed me. Sonically speaking, I think what has been described so far as "disjointed"/"soulless" is somewhat purposeful, given the lyrics? Surprised by the generic comments too because I'd have said this isn't much like what you hear in commercial pop songs these days.
April 24, 201510 yr This isn't in the top 1000 in the UK! Surprised it has done that badly here, given the Queen link and I always thought he had some hardcore fans here who would multi buy. Update.. It is available on preorder, but release has been pushed back to 7th June.. The UK chart thread needs updating. Still surprised at the v.low preorder position tho.... April 27, 201510 yr He is promoting this by blabbering on about "being with" hollywood men you "think are straight"
April 29, 201510 yr The video is an absolute travesty and Hype Williams needs to be put out to pasture. It looks horrendously cheap.
April 29, 201510 yr Cringed at parts of that video. There's a decent song there but that chorus was bad before the video now it's eeeek yeegads bad!
May 10, 201510 yr This surprised me a lot too, I really like it! But tbf I heard it on the radio without realizing it was an Adam Lambert song, so I didn't have any expectations. It does sound very trend-chasing but he can totally get away with it, at least in the US where deep house isn't nearly as big. Smart move. Having a good start on airplay here actually, nice to see!

Nah it isn't a 'Smart move' to choose a ballad with a deep house chorus as a first single aimed at Pop radio after a long break. Quite the reverse! In fact in the UK the single isn't in the top 1500.

I wasn't looking at the UK really, in that case I agree with you :P I do think it's a smart enough move to get Adam a hit in the US, which eluded him last era, so I get the sense that he's more focused on that. Actually I think it will stand out nicely on pop radio and, looking at the US airplay charts, it's really exceeding my expectations so far, certainly catching on faster than the singles on his previous album ever did.
June 15, 201510 yr Well the song is top 40 on iTunes now, although sadly I don't think it will be top 40 on the official chart. But I f*cking love it

(43 on Sales with lack of streaming killing it). This week I think it will improve but wont chart top 40 unless he does some good promo, but he is otherwise engaged in the US. June 15, 201510 yr It was #82 on the Official Chart! (43 on Sales with lack of streaming killing it). Yep, also some sales were deducted because they came from pre-ordering the album. But now the album is out it might climb a little (there are no sales from pre-ordering anymore) + sales from the remixes EP
