Ugh, it really annoys me that they give last week's position as the position from last week's midweeks, rather than the official position. That's just not useful to anyone.
Thought Kelly would have slipped to #3 by now, must be very close
Shame Calvin Harris & Haim aren't in the top 40. Seems streaming is not being kind to him this time

I take it they're not performing at the Brits? That could have potentially been a really good performance.

Maybe I need to add the print version links from Radio 1, but that adds more confusion, as the Radio 1 chart is only a top 40 update, its quite annoying really

No they're not

The links to the Radio 1 would still be useful :) maybe it's something the OCC will change soon, or I might even email them about it.

I've added a little something to the above update, should be sufficient for the time been, I doubt OCC will change that in a hurry, as they have to change all the backlogs.

As long as it's made clear that they're doing that, it does have some use because it's easier to compare the songs that start low on the midweeks & climb up. The mids give off the impression that the older hits are dropping way faster than they are, and it's easier to get a better idea of what they are doing if you compare to where they were on the midweeks last week.

It does seem silly of them to track full chart runs of them though.

I think the last midweek position and midweek chart runs are great personally. If I wanted last week official positions, I'd check the official chart. :P

But isn't the purpose of midweeks to see how the chart has changed since the last official chart?

I thought it was more to show what the new week is going to look like, with the LW data just to help put it in some perspective.

It's both of those really, but I just find the current LW position a little misleading. Although I guess I'm gonna have to learn to live with it!

Yeah I think that's what I was trying to say

That didn't really answer the question, but there's no way Madonna would have knocked Ellie off #1, no matter day of the week she released

It won't happen now. There are two versions of her song on iTunes. One is the official single alone and one is from her album but it seems everyone is downloading the version from her album

I'm so glad about Kelly! I didn't expect her to be so high with her new song.
Where's today's update? We would like to see who has climbed/re-entered due to last nights BRITs
