Posted March 10, 201510 yr Just found out recently whilst watching The Chase that Jake from Rixton was the son of Shane Ritchie (#2 in 2003 with I'm Your Man) and Coleen Nolan of The Nolans. Got me thinking how many charting solo artists or group members can we find, whose parents, step-Parents also made the charts before them.

March 10, 201510 yr Yeah, I think Alexandra Burke's mum only sang on some of the early singles, before they had any hits.
March 10, 201510 yr As mentioned in Sunday's commentary, Marlon Roudette's step-mother is Neneh Cherry. Hayley Mills is better-known for her acting, but she did have a hit single in 1961. Her son, Crispian, was in Kula Shaker.

March 10, 201510 yr This is definitely scraping the barrel but Matthew Healy of The 1975 fame is son of Loose Woman Denise Welch, who had a no.23 chart smash in 1995 with 'You Don't Have to Say You Love Me/Cry Me a River' :magic: On a serious note, Julio/Enrique Iglesias.

March 11, 201510 yr The closest I can think of to three generations starts with Ewan MacColl. He didn't have a hit as a performer, but he did write The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face and other hits. His daughter, Kirsty MacColl, had hits both as a performer and as a writer. Her nephew (and Ewan's grandson), Jamie, is in Bombay Bicycle Club.
