P Money did have a #50 'hit' a few years ago with the underrated 'Anthemic'

That's the first song that came to mind to me, but I knew that missed the top 40.

He has some other songs with Skream from Magnetic Man too, like this one:

Maybe in ~5 years when we get a dubstep revival he'll finally make top 40.

The difference being that Lamborghini is out tomorrow and it's a grime song which means it'll be front loaded

It doesn't sound so much like a grime song, it sounds more like a trap song.

Nick Jonas doing well on pre-orders.

On the other hand, Conor Maynard is looking likely to miss the top 40 with his new single. Is it getting any airplay?

Not yet, hence why it's doing so badly :kink:

Kworb Combined Top 10

1 1.0000 Sam Smith - Lay Me Down (feat. John Legend)

2 0.6263 Years & Years - King

3 0.5110 Flo Rida - GDFR (feat. Sage the Gemini & Lookas)

4 0.4649 James Bay - Hold Back the River

5 0.4561 Rihanna and Kanye West and Paul McCartney - FourFiveSeconds

6 0.4175 Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do

7 0.3795 The Weeknd - Earned It

8 0.3632 Tough Love - So Freakin' Tight

9 0.3613 Hozier - Take Me To Church

10 0.3491 Usher - I Don't Mind (feat. Juicy J)

Hozier has three more versions top 200, just not top 100 so no value for them. He'll be at least #7 with them factored in!

Where's Hold Back the River getting the boost from? The album's out next week but that's not the only reason?

Increasing airplay - it was #1 on the airplay chart last week!

I actually think that with decent airplay this could be a fairly big and long-running hit, certainly bigger than 'Honest'!

Is it just this high because of the TOTD status last week? Always a good sign people like it if it jumps up and actually stays this high.

Indeed and other songs falling! I'd say its sales will be pretty similar to last week but it might move up the chart due to streams & songs like Usher falling due to frontloadedness!

Tough Love up to #8, a little surprised they managed to make the iTunes top 10 without their pre-orders being added on. Looks like they have a decent chance of being top 10 for the week. MNEK also up to #23, really hope he can scrape the top 40.

Same here The Rhythm is by far MNEKs best song so far. I'm actually liking that they don't add preorders on upon release as it shows how well a song is doing that week it's released better.

UGH DIE ALREADY "I DON'T MIND" :drama:

Actually I think people are too busy cursing the depressing John Smith track than this song

28. Iggy Azalea - Trouble (feat. Jennifer Hudson)

You could argue that German Whip was a trap song with a 140 BPM.

Maybe this pre-order change is a move from iTunes to stop record companies holding back releases so long? iTunes must know that in the long run, pre-orders are detrimental to sales. 'FourFiveSeconds' is already one of the biggest selling tracks of the year, for example. Would it have sold as much if it was released two months after it originally premiered? I don't think so.

This is a UK-specific phenomenon and iTunes is a global company, I doubt they care that much / at all really about UK sales. I think they just realised that pre-orders of albums lead to their charts being very unrepresentative at the start of every release week (worldwide, not just in the UK) with the top end of the chart comparing one-day sales of older albums with weeks or even months of built-up sales from newer albums, which then inevitably drop off at speed. (They've probably only changed it for singles as well because it was easier to change their rules for all releases than for just albums). And the situation with instant grats having album pre-orders lumped on doesn't really need explaining as to why it's misleading and misrepresentative

I doubt it would miss the Top 40. No airplay yet cos its release is still over a month away, Radio 1 will more than likely playlist it tomorrow or next week and I'm sure Capital will be on board too. Still can't see it doing as well as his previous stuff though.
