Fantastic news about Simon going. Easily one of the most annoying housemates we've ever had. No "Showbiz" any more.

 

 

 

First civilian series evictee is finally a male.

Even in celeb series, the only male first evictees were Andrew Stone and David McIntosh! John McCririck from UBB was the absolute first one but that was a spin-off/celebration series.

 

It would have been interesting to see him stay and face proper eviction to see if he'd have been the first male first evictee anyway but I couldn't have handled him that long!!

Echoing the relief that Simon was the one booted out! I always try not to judge the contestants too much on opening night but I was already getting sick of his attention-seeking act. Still felt a bit sorry for him though and he seemed to take his eviction in good spirits (on camera at least) so fair play to him.

 

Seems like a pretty good mix of personalities this year. Liking a lot of them but I'm instantly drawn to Nick in particular as he seems like quite a complex character, though I found his VT a bit uncomfortable to watch with him being so young and essentially saying he's a 'loathable' waste of space with no true friends, and he was extremely nervous when talking to Emma. I really hope he's stable enough for the experience as I think he could offer a lot and seems quite sharp and funny.

 

Being from Dublin, it's great to hear a familiar accent in there but it's strange how female, uber-confident, assertive model types (Noirin, Caoimhe, Hazel) seem to always be chosen as the token Irish contestant, with Jade instantly reminding me of Caoimhe in particular. Not sure on her potential as of yet but she seems pretty opinionated which is (nearly) always a good thing.

Jade does just instantly remind me of the previous Irish girls! :lol:

 

Disappointing to see that the most northerly point a housemate comes from is Doncaster/Manchester, which is not really the true north. :( (yes, I WILL find something to moan about the show)

So i've let last night sink in now and I can quite confidently say it was the best launch show we've had in YEARS. The mix of housemates, the presenting (and I am usually the first to roll my eyes at Emma) and the whole twist worked perfectly.

 

On the twist, I am happy that for again the first time in years, it was actually SHOCKING. While I don't really agree with getting people out so early, I think of the choices we had, Simon would have got my vote so I am happy with that. He could have been explosive in the house so we are potentially missing out on that, but hopefully there are fireworks aplenty anyway.

 

Favourite so far is Nick and I am very happy to see others itching to find out more about him too. Hope he lives up to what he could potentially be. Gah SO excited this is back :D

Danny and Cristian's mind numbing "lad chat" :puke: The silver lining is that hopefully with two of them there they split the horny teen vote.

 

Adjoa is giving me life already (I know, predictable fave from me), Biannca teas except less desperate and forced. Predictably she's geting hate on Twitter for being a slag or w/e, sorry but if Danny or Cristian said the stuff she did Twitter would need a wet floor sign!!

I knew Kieran would be great (or at least it's looking that way!). He was one of my initial favourites just based on last night and he's given so many funny moments already! :lol:

Danny and Cristian are ABYSMAL. They're the sort of guys who think every gay they come across will fancy them and try to drug them to sleep with them or something.

Sarah looks like she can create drama so she's the best! :cheer:

Danny and Cristian are terrible! So small minded, really don't like either of them.

 

My faves so far are Adjoa and Aaron. I quite like Sarah and Jade too. Jade kind of reminds me of Ashleigh.

My favourite after tonight is Adjoa and I also adore Sarah and Eileen. Also starting to really like Nick, Aaron and Chloe after tonight :heart:

I also don't hate any of them yet apart from danny :puke2:

Cristian makes me cringe like hell. His 'cool guy' persona is so forced and I swear his accent changes from scene to scene. Plus, the bed scene was pathetic.

 

My favourite's got to be Eileen so far, she seems like a sweetheart.

Not sure Cristian did himself any favours getting so mardy about having to share a bed. He came across really quite childish and smarmy.

 

Kieran shining for me in that episode, couldn't help but laugh at half the things he came up with but I can see him getting on the hms nerves quite quickly. A good first (proper) episode though :D

Well, that took all of 35 minutes of Episode 1 for the hot guy to be a bit of a dick. I don't actually think what he said was homophobic, but it bugs me when guys are so bothered about coming across straight. My straight mates make sexually suggestive comments to me all the time, it doesn't make me think they're gay, it's just a laugh, so I think he needs to loosen up. Not really here for Danny either, they're giving me Conor/Arron BRO vibes already (funnily enough, I fancied Aaron aswell, and he turned out to be a dick quickly aswell :()

 

Hate to be stereotypical but I am really enjoying Adjoa at the moment, her comment about pussy amused me, but I won't quote it for Google's sake. I'm also actually really liking Sarah which I can see myself being in the minority of but she seems very blunt, quite Lucy Watson-esque at this point, won't take people trying to put her in a box and can stand up for herself without actually being nasty and irrational.

cristian and aaron are gorgeous (the former moreseo than the latter). adjoa seems like one of the only likeable ones so far.
