how fabulous to actually put out a tracklisting and album confirmation when you haven't even gotten the final listing confirmed. professional :')

nice art tho

also move to indie pls

Agreed.

I love the artwork, and an heavily anticipating this album.

I'd say if anything hey are indie pop, like Marina and Tove Lo. It's not standard, run of the mill radio pop, but nor is it super left field either. It doesn't mean you have to start listening to songs with the vocals really deep in the mix though. We won't judge you or think any less of you this way.
Yeah I'd say Indie-pop. Either way it's far from dance music to me.
To me they're dance, at least from the 4 songs I've heard from them. But I guess these days non generic dance acts would be considered "indie"...

I'd also argue dance, too.

But either way, really looking forward to this album. Even though 'Desire' is still pants. Everything else seems great.

I still think 'Desire' and 'King' are pretty much equal in terms of quality, rather similar sounding too, to the point that I can have both in my head at once and do a bit of a mash-up! I really like both, so I don't quite get why a few others are meh towards one and appear to adore the other. :o That's not just me singling out Jonjo because that's evidently the case for most people.

Quite excited for the album. I hope they have something even better up their sleeves for the single that launches the album!

This was exactly my thoughts, the only thing I can think of for withholding the titles is that track 10 will be the next/lead single with track 16 a remix/acoustic version. I'm looking forward to whatever it is though, "King" was far too similar to "Desire" for me to properly enjoy it. I still adore "Take Shelter" though.

'Worship' is another blinding tune from Y&Y  ~ literally cannot contain my excitement for Communion' :w00t:

What a week for new music tho ~ Martin Garrix, Oliver Heldens, Jimi Jules, Kygo, Tchami + Years & Years :yahoo:  :yahoo:

Not sure why this thread has landed in 'Indie, Rock and Alternative'

The genre mods are currently discussing where Years & Years should be placed as currently they have threads in indie and dance, we'll let you know once we've made the final decision. ^_^

Suggestion:

Their wiki describe them as Synth-pop. They've had a number 1 single and are very mainstream now. I'd say send them to the pop forum.

His voice on 'King' is a lot more desirable (lol). It seems a lot more restrained and reigned in, whereas on 'Desire' I just can't bear the chorus at all to the point it ruins the song for me. Other than that, the other songs I've heard from them (plus CB 'Stronger') are all excellent and his voice is so nice to listen to!

"Real" remains their best and only 'essential' moment to date.

"King" is good too, but only about a 7/10. "Desire" remains a bad Calvin Harris remix of a OneRepublic song.

^have you heard Breathe?

I don't like Worship much on first play, but still here for the album.

When there are so many debates whether an artist should be placed - dance or indie - and it just went to #1 with a dance-pop song then surely the only forum the said artist belongs to in my opinion is pop.

'Real' is still indeed their best by miles. Haven't heard 'Worship', might do this later. 'TBA' indeed may just be the next single. And I quite like the idea of not revealing the full tracklist so early.
