July 24, 20186 yr So pleased that 'Birdsong' made it into our votes, your first Harmonican points since 'Waves' in 95 IIRC! It didn't even get semi points from us but thankfully you didn't need them :P
July 26, 20186 yr Author BSJC 106 Results Claptone - Birdsong (feat. Zola Blood) http://static2-vivimilano.corriereobjects.it/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/claptone1-628x353.jpg It was announced on Monday night (yup, sorry this is a bit late) in Land of DW that 'Birdsong' by Claptone featuring Zola Blood finished in 5th place with 234 points! We are of course ecstatic with this result. This beats our previous best of 2018 so far position-wise (goreshit's 'the nature of dying', which finished 6th in 102) and bags us a unique position. This is only the fourth time that we've finished in the top 5, following one 2nd place (for 'Earth Not Above' by HÆLOS) and two 3rds (for 'Scope' by MssingNo and 'Waqqaberry' by BÖ) but is our 12th top 10 hit to date. This leaves 1st place and 4th as those left for Jadakissnia to obtain in the top 10. 'Birdsong' marks our third top 10 hit of the year so far (following K Á R Y Y N's 'BINARY' and the aforementioned 'the nature of dying') which is the second highest amount that we've had in a BJSC year, following the mammoth 6 top 10s that we racked up in 2016. This is our fifth top 20 hit of the year also, with Elena Temnikova letting the team down with her DNQ. Even-numbered years are clearly a godsend for Jadakissnia. We also found out that we WON the semi as 'Birdsong' picked up 122 points there, including five sets of 12! This is the second time that we've been the semi champions, following the aforementioned 'Scope's eye-watering 165 points tally (how did that not win in the final again?! :cheeseblock:). We're so pleased that so many people took to this beautiful deep house offering. We received six medal positions on this occasion, so a big thank you to Niceland for the full 18, then Aeroche, Land of DW and Tartford for their 15s plus Cowtermont and South Danaelanda for their 13s *.* We have some more good news to report as the winner of this contest has swiftly trumped the last one to become our favourite of the year so far! Fljótavík achieved the rare feat of an instrumental winner, with the beautiful 'Hypocrite' by Jean-Michel Blais & CFCF taking the crown. This received our 15 points so a huge congratulations to the nation, we can't wait to go there next month! Our 18 was actually embroiled in a top 2 battle :o but was pipped to the post right at the last minute. This silver medallist was Cowtermont's #longsongbloc offering 'This Wild Darkness (CYA Remix)' by electronic legend Moby. However, this is the best that an 18 of ours has done this year, beating the 5th place of South Danaelanda's 'Black Church' by Dimension last month. It's good news all round for our podium favourites, as our wonderful bronze 're:member' by the ever reliable Ólafur Arnalds also finished in the top 10, in 10th to be precise. What a contest this turned out to be *.* Thank you to the following for the 'Birdsong' points: Land of DW (15), Tartford (15), Mulgracia (11), Tinnmark (06), Cadelicia (02), Aeroche (15), Cowtermont (13), Lotunia (04), Terra Avium (07), Hushkanukia (01), Bøtanikkä (01), Skall (08), Niceland (18), South Danaelanda (13), Persephonia (08), Harmonica (03), Enty (09), Cor Lupus (01), Séyetana (08), FARC (03), Singerpurear (12), Fljótavík (10), Rolloland (08), Quintessa (10), New Lexico (04), Aelandor (10), Desbuanda (10) & Beaverdonia (08) Look out for a French-language electronic song in 107 and a bhangra reworking of a certain musical legend's song in the Reinvention II spinoff :o *.* POINTS GIVEN / RECEIVED TOP 10s UPDATE: GIVEN 01) 311 Persephonia +11 02) 195 Terra Avium +09 03) 140 Trifoski +01 04) 126 Quintessa +13 05) 125 Espen 06) 109 Fljótavík +15 07) 108 Kluminican Republic 08) 106 Singerpurear 09) 102 Aeroche +05 10) 100 Deandria RECEIVED 01) 310 Persephonia +08 02) 239 Terra Avium +07 03) 183 Espen 04) 181 Deandria 05) 169 Skall +08 06) 159 Suedeonia 07) 155 Quintessa +10 08) 148 Aeroche +15 09) 138 Cumulonimbia 10) 137 Land of DW +15 ~ So pleased that 'Birdsong' made it into our votes, your first Harmonican points since 'Waves' in 95 IIRC! It didn't even get semi points from us but thankfully you didn't need them :P Oh blimey, I didn't realise that it had been over a year since you last voted for us :o I guess it must be similar for me with 'Paper Games' too. But yes, hooray, glad that you seem to like some of the chilled offerings that I send quite a bit, with 'Waves' being another that is über relaxing *.* haha yes that semi haul was quite something :cheeseblock: pleased to see that it turned out to be a grower anyway!
July 27, 20186 yr Jadakissnia: The Hits  b-sides album next, or should I indeed say Jadakissnia: Floppy Fan Faves :kink: x Well done on another very good position, I listened to the track and liked it!
July 27, 20186 yr Such nice looking artwork for this Jadakissnia hits CD <3 coming to top the charts in Persephonia this week ofc x
July 27, 20186 yr Author Séyetana (08) How DARE they copy the same amount of points as we gave you!!! Oh MY!!! Tbh I received quite a few sets of 8, just look at you trendsetting (let's forget about the fact that you were the last one to be revealed x) Jadakissnia: The Hits  b-sides album next, or should I indeed say Jadakissnia: Floppy Fan Faves :kink: x Well done on another very good position, I listened to the track and liked it! Haha I thought you might appreciate this compilation *.* definitely scope for more of them in the future! and thank you, pleased that you were a fan <3 Such nice looking artwork for this Jadakissnia hits CD <3 coming to top the charts in Persephonia this week ofc x I was toying with enlisting one of the more artsy people on the forum to make one for me, but then thought nah I should probably put my own stamp on it even if it turns out awful. So yayy, I'm really glad that you think that  Bellsprout the ultimate BJSC ambassador *.* woo, The Greatest Showman soundtrack hu x
July 27, 20186 yr Oh MY we did trendset!! Of course Seyetenna was the first one to jump on the bandwagon after that
August 8, 20186 yr Author BJSC 107 Vendredi sur Mer - Larme à Gauche 0M3qd1yOUdY So the people of Jadakissnia have an out of character moment once again as we send another song this month that is under 3 minutes long! 'Larme à Gauche' clocks in at 2 minutes 54 seconds and is the first entry we've ever sent to feature French vocals. The beautiful female foreign-language vox may sound familiar because on this occasion we have decided to recycle an artist. Vendredi sur Mer were previously sent by currently absent nation N DNTN in BJSC 86 with the mesmerising 'La femme à la peau bleue' but that failed to crack the top 20, so that's our goal with this one. We gave Francis and the Lights some pretty good redemption so we hope that the BJSC masses will take to this one in a big way too. Let those blissful vocals and relaxing electronic beats hook you in. This is our 34th BJSC entry to date and we can be found in slot 25 of semi 2. Please support us! BJSC Reinvention II Tigerstyle - Nachna Onda Nei (feat. Kaka Bhaniawala) bRT6JeuuzLc So those of you who thought we may be abandoning the #longsongbloc can be rest assured that it isn't the case, because our spinoff entry is 6 minutes 16 seconds long. :kink: 'Nachna Onda Nei' is a reworking of both Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' and Queen's 'Under Pressure', with a bit of Coolio's 'Fantastic Voyage' in there too for good measure. These songs are flipped on their head with bhangra-style vocals courtesy of the late (</3) Kaka Bhaniawala. As for the guys behind the production, Tigerstyle are a folkhop duo who hail from Scotland. This song may be familiar to you as it was used in Signature's 2008 audition for Britain's Got Talent, which went down a storm. The duo eventually finished 2nd behind George Sampson. We seem to be getting a lot of spinoff inspiration from the show this year :kink: 'Nachna Onda Nei' actually charted at #62 off the back of BGT, g'won. 1DdBLOSeYxc We hope to outdo our 27th place finish in the first edition of Reinvention (that was when we were the Poland of t seet with CROSSPARTY's take on M83's 'Midnight City') as 'Nachna Onda Nei' is one of our favourite things that we've ever sent to a spinoff. We can be found in slot 24.
August 20, 20186 yr Author BJSC 107 There are no tears to cry as Vendredi sur Mer makes it to the final! We're a little late with this one but it was recently announced in Fljótavík that Jadakissnia have qualified for the BJSC 107 final! Vendredi sur Mer, a solo singer whose nationality is actually Swiss despite providing French vocals for our entry, has taken us this far on this occasion. She has a 100% streak of qualifying in BJSC, after previously doing so for N DNTN with 'La Femme À La Peau Bleue (Chez Toi)' in BJSC 86 and eventually finishing 28th in the final. Will we perform better than this one in the final? Only time will tell. For now, you can find us in slot 36 out of 42 songs in the final line-up and we'd appreciate any support for this beautiful song. This is our 29th qualifier to date out of a possible 34 by the way! Our qualification streak also grows to 4 in a row following this good news. We had to say goodbye to one song from our semi-final: 04 Niceland • Suzi Island • Show Me The Way ... which is a shame as it was only getting better for us, so Niceland almost definitely would've received final points for the first time from us :( then, from our would-be semi 1 votes we lost: 03 Cumulonimbia • LPLX • Damson 01 Desbuanda • Tash Sultana • Mystik Pretty baffled about Tash to be honest. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BJSC Reinvention II Results Tigerstyle - Nachna Onda Nei (feat. Kaka Bhaniawala) Tonight we found out our Reinvention II fate in Unovia. Our desi bop 'Nachna Onda Nei' by Tigerstyle featuring Kaka Bhaniawala finished in a disappointing 29th place with 84 points. This is our joint worst spinoff result to date, alongside Epelit's 'flippaa & kriippaa' from Worldvision II... we're clearly not very good at the sequel spinoffs! At least we can be happy about the actual points haul itself, as 84 points is nothing to sniff at, when 87 was our points tally for 3rd place in the Japan vs. South Korea spinoff. Y'all were still sleeping on this BIG time though. Anyway, we'd quickly like to say a huge thank you to Persephonia for providing our only medal position and an 18 at that  St. Burbia were crowned the winners of this spinoff with their piano ballad interpretation of Olive's 'You're Not Alone', this time sang by Astræa, as featured on TV. They scooped the title with an impressive 205 points! We were happy with this result as we did award the song 4 points. Our somewhat obvious 18 this time was courtesy of Cor Lupus, with the witchy 'The Colour' by Sibewest. This finished in 7th place so we're thrilled for them. Our 15 wasn't such a smash however, this was Aelandor who sent the very intense 'All Along The Watchtower' by Bear McCreary which finished in 22th -_- I mean we weren't expecting anything big for that one but still, it's a shame to see one of your faves missing out on the top 20! Our bronze did a bit better though, this was the ever successful Aeroche who sent 'Demons II (feat. FURA) [Kant Remix]' by Notize and got a 9th place finish out of it - what a result. Overall we were impressed with the quality of this spinoff, really! Thank you to the following for pointing me: Terra Avium (11), Persephonia (18), Harmonica (03), Aesthetica (12), St. Burbia (12), Land of DW (02), Alteria (10), Aeroche (02), Fljótavík (01), Skall (11) + Cor Lupus (02)
August 20, 20186 yr Tigerstyle utterly robbed. </3 Signature happened before I ever paid any attention to Britain's Got Talent and I am quite shook at that being a thing x
August 20, 20186 yr Author Tigerstyle utterly robbed. </3 Signature happened before I ever paid any attention to Britain's Got Talent and I am quite shook at that being a thing x I know right </3 I'm so pleased that you stanned my entry anyway, was shook by the 18 *.* Signature are such icons, Stavros Flatley rivalled in the BGT dancing duo stakes x
August 26, 20186 yr Author BJSC 107 Results Vendredi sur Mer - Larme à Gauche http://s1.lprs1.fr/images/2017/10/31/7365363_chloee-fradeira-low_940x500.jpg Tonight our fate was announced in Fljótavík. The hype was building for us to perhaps score a top 10 hit with lush electronic French entry 'Larme à Gauche'. But would we live up to it or fall short? Well... it turns out that we came 12th with 213 points. So, not quite a top 10 but still very impressive. We were only a measly TWO points away from the top 10 as well. Ultimately we achieved our objective of returning Vendredi sur Mer to the contest so she could achieve a top 20 second time round, yay! This is our 20th top 20 hit to date and continues our streak of all our 2018 qualifiers reaching the top 20 (our streak thus far is: 10-06-DNQ-17-16-05-12) - we're so chuffed with that. It was also revealed that we were 10th in semi 2 with 68 points so we smashed our progression in the final with a top 10 near-miss *.* 12th is not quite a unique position for us as we reached the very same heights with Tearist's 'Headless' in BJSC 91. The 18s were really spread out this month but we managed to grab two of 'em - so thank you to #00274E and Aeroche for those! Plus Pupok for their silver and bronzes from East Rukahavian and Tinnmark. Summericia became first-time winners this edition (not without a nail-biting ride of course!) with Cathedrals' 'Try To Fight' following an impressive progression from their 9th place semi finish. We didn't quite give this entry any final points but it did sneak a couple of semi-final points so we're happy enough at the result. Our 18 this time was courtesy of Persephonia with their excellent 'the nature of dying' soundalike 'Hasty Boom Alert' by μ-Ziq. This managed to scrape a top 20 placing which was impressive after it was lingering a bit lower than that region for a while. Our 15 this time went to Bøtanikkä with Kutima's ethnic instrumental 'Mix Tel Aviv'. This would've finished in 21st place but sadly faced a deduction and ended up in 29th place. Finally, we awarded our bronze to #00274E's intense instrumental comeback 'Hidden' by Rival Consoles, which placed in 24th. Woo, a fully instrumental top 3. Nothing absolutely spectacular for our favourites but nothing disastrous either, we'll take that. Thank you to the following for pointing us: Persephonia (04), Terra Avium (09), Séyetana (03), Pupok (15), Aeroche (18), Trifoski (11), Thelonia (03), Cowtermont (05), Tartford (11), Espen (09), FARC (08), Bøtanikkä (10), Suedeonia (03), #00274E (18), Aesthetica (06), Buzzjack Mountain (11), Cumulonimbia (06), Desbuanda (08), East Rukahavian (13), Flynnonda (10), Hushkanukia (06), Singerpurear (06), Skall (07) & Tinnmark (13) See you guys next month with possibly the most haunting and beautiful Jadakissnia entry ever. August 26, 20186 yr Author I’m incredibly hyped to hear ur next entry omg Yayyyyy Jeff  it was tagged as orchestral / ambient so I had to click as that sounded amaze, soon enough I had spammed it about 20 times in a row *.*
August 26, 20186 yr I'm going with something ~ambient~ next contest as well I think, the nsyncness x (although probably won't actually sound anything like yours :kink: hyped to hear that as well ofc!!)
August 26, 20186 yr Author ooh #ambientbloc realness *.* looking forward to hearing yours as well, bring it on!! <3
September 13, 20186 yr Author BJSC 108 Somnium - Sinking 2QJiYlU-ZPY Do forgive me for being fashionably late with this compared to usual but here we go. Jadakissnia have chosen Somnium to represent us for the 108th edition of BJSC with 'Sinking'. This is an ambient orchestral song that is apparently linked to Kantai Collection which is both a game and an anime. I'm not sure about the exact context of the song there but my GOSH, isn't this both stunning and heartbreaking at the same time?! The instrumental makes use of emotional components such as the piano and leads up to some pretty haunting vocals (the whole orchestral part). Then there is a spoken part (more #foreignbloc impact) where this girl sounds pretty sad. You're in for a tearjerker!! Maybe. It was pretty spine-tingling for me anyway <3 Somnium are rather MYSTERIOUS but it seems to be a team up between a guy who calls himself both Evergreen and Sangnoksu, plus another dude called Bae.c (name goals) who are both Korean (sooo first Korean act! yay). I feel like this is something very different for Jadakissnia but we do enjoy a switch-up now and then. This is our 35th BJSC entry to date and we can be found in slot 6 of semi 2. We're not confident about this semi draw but fingers crossed. Also Masquerade II is a thing and we're being represented by Sonia & Selena. Icons.
September 17, 20186 yr Author Somnium stay afloat in BJSC 108! Tonight it was announced in Summericia that we have QUALIFIED for the BJSC 108 final with 'Sinking' by Somnium! The Jadakissnian people are over the moon right now. This is one of my favourite songs I've sent this year for sure so I'm super pleased that its beauty will be showcased in the final for more to hear. This builds Jadakissnia's qualifying streak up to 5 in a row and takes us to a nice round 30 qualifiers out of a possible 35 to date. Now it's time to see how this magical orchestral song will perform in the final. We've had a Two Steps From Hell comparison so can this match the 12th place of that? Or will we flounder? We'll soon find out. Any support would be greatly appreciated, we can be found closing the show for the first time ever in slot 38! This time we lost the following: Semi 1: 05 FSR Rontvia // Yusuf Can Kurt & Emircan Hattat - Dream (feat. La Dee Eda) Just Rontvia from our would-be semi 1 votes but this is quite the loss. Up with 3am radio 1/seedy nightclub songs of this ilk!! Semi 2: 06 Ambienta // Actress - X22RME 05 Rolloland // The Art Of Noise - Close Up 04 Taahino // mewithoutYou // Julia (or, 'Holy to the LORD' on the Bells of Horses) 02 Flynnonda // half•alive - still feel. More losses from this semi unfortunately where our input actually counted. The Flynnonda racism is just too much at this point.
