Oh yes to add onto what Bray said, the Singerpurear song oh my gosh *.* Hot mess Bollywood, EXCELLENT! Really hope it has a shot of qualifying.

Now completed my listen through semi 1 as well, I think the semis are pretty equal quality wise this time! Semi 1 has a handful of bad songs though while there was only one I wasn't that keen on in semi 2.

 

My odds coming shortly, people who like that sort of thing! :P

The majority of the entries from debuting countries are really excellent. I'm really taken by Flynnonda's entry especially, I hope it can qualify as I'm in the opposite semi so can't support it.

I can't seem to raise the enthusiasm to start listening. :drama: Ideally need to do so today.

 

Seems that this is an indie-heavy semi final, from what has been said. Trust me to go with that genre for the first time this month!

I've roughly ranked my semi in about 40 minutes of listening :o but then I'm going to re-rank the top 20 more carefully tomorrow, then make a top 10 out of it, and finally rank them one more time (since I often grow to songs and want to make sure I don't end up regretting a +7 isn't a +12!)

Listened through semi 2 now - I'm putting myself in danger of my 12 DNQing again I think, simply because of the country who's sent it.

 

On a note that may or may not be related to the above, Singerpurear BRINGING IT this month, their best entry yet I think *.* Shame that style of song never does anything in this contest, here's hoping this is an exception somehow. And Yehesi serving Ms Dynamite teas! Very unexpected swag ~

 

This seems to be a pretty indie/'alternative'-heavy contest (as in actual indie, not 'anything that isn't pure pop' as indie usually means in this forum), quite the unexpected new ~fashion~ :o

Really enjoyed Semi 1! Some amazing entries this month with at least 5 10/10's :D

half way flicking through the youtubes for semi 2 and I'm going to have real problems narrowing down to 10, very varied, all good, two standouts so far. Possibly the most adventurous semi I've been in, hooray! :yahoo:

 

 

UPDATE: Ive listened to 'em all (not all the way through) and I REALLY need the mp3's as I want to award points to everyone in the semi, honestly, it really is good and a lot of standout tracks. Not a duff one in there.

Well maybe 50 :P I skip any that I know doesn't fit my genre and ones I do like I listen to about half so I get the general idea. Then I listen to them more carefully a few more times :D
