April 12, 201511 yr Never seen a movie in the series but as a song I think it's pretty great! Rapper with a catchy hook always seems to work as a formula for me (see Airplanes, Read All About It etc.) :P Yeah, I was thinking that there were quite a few similarities to "Airplanes". Same BPM too (80-90 BPM).
April 12, 201511 yr Author When I first heard it, I got Airplane vibes. So glad to see it heading straight to #1, it deserves it. Absolute global smash!
April 12, 201511 yr So glad to see it heading straight to #1, it deserves it. Absolute global smash! The track should chart today, already was top 100 on Weds mids, it should comfortably be top 30, or even top 20, it will have a big climb to #1 next week.
April 12, 201511 yr The track should chart today, already was top 100 on Weds mids, it should comfortably be top 30, or even top 20, it will have a big climb to #1 next week. It has. It's #22. It should have few sales from Amazon charting towards it
April 17, 201511 yr Number 1 in the US officially. Knocking Mark Ronson & Bruno off of the top (after 14 (!!!) weeks). It's the 10th song to ever debut at #100 on the Hot 100 and climb it's way to the top. It's the fastest climb to number 1 out of them too and taking 5 weeks to get there (the next song in line took 6 weeks to reach the summit). So deserved and a lovely final bow for Paul Walker <3 :( Their performance of it on Ellen was great too. Charlie is actually BRILLIANT live. And the Charlie-only version is just as beautiful. April 17, 201511 yr The Charlie only version is ten times more emotional for me, I don't think I've connected with a song like this in a while and I'm delighted to see it smashing!

April 19, 201511 yr MONSTER! :o Absolutely SMASHED (and I mean OLITERATED!) the streaming record! Ridiculously high sales too. So happy though. Such a great and beautiful song! I do think that's the #1 sewn up for the next few weeks, to me it sounds like a million seller and it could have a good run at #1. I really can't see Carly getting there now, and its the only competition the track has at the moment, it feels like Uptown Funk, 4 to 6 weeks at #1 at least especially with those opening sales. It should maintain high sales for a few weeks yet.
