They said in an interview before that they tried to change the production to make it pop, but went back to the original in the end. It is very flat, sadly.

It's pretty good, no chance of #1 though but that was unlikely anyway.

I mean, it's good but maybe I was expecting more because you guys have been hyping it for almost 2 years

It is a decent album track but not single worthy at all.

As with everything they do, it's great. However, it's probably not on par with their other singles from this era.. It's apt that it should be titled 'Disconnect' because it's nothing like the other singles from this album..

Yeah :P It's very obvious this was made 2+ years ago

sounding good on first listen (didn't bother listening to the live version when that was floating around), agree that it doesn't sound like a hit but I don't think it's meant to be a commercial release. wouldn't surprise me if the above theory of it just being a fan single is correct (though I'd like it to appear on the album personally).

I thought music was so much better generally 2 years ago, so this stands to reason.

Totally bemused by the lukewarm reaction to this.

It hits me on the first listen, love it !

It does sound a bit bland, but it fits with the theme of "Disconnect", as in wanting to extract yourself from the reality for the time being.

I really like it, it is much better than Symphony and definitely better than Rockabye. I am a fan of Marina's operatic melodramatic voice and the progressive style of the track complete with the trance/progressive house style arpeggios in the second verse, since Avicii went country-dance and stopped using them in his chart hits they are not in chart dance songs nearly enough these days.

Thank god they didn't change it to 'make it pop', which would have probably meant it would become yet another tropical pop song or a Chainsmokers clone.

Not bad, but definitely sounds like a grat. Also it feels like they branched away from this kind of thing earlier. This sounds like the kind of tune they might've released in place of the poppier 'Stronger', instead of going down that direction (which was probably more lucrative).

well, I found myself singing along at the end of the song

despite the fact that I quite hated it 2 yrs ago

kudos to Clean Bandit for releasing the appropriate version of the track they were in doubts about for so long

Actually, the one thing I'm struggling to get my head around with the studio version is the "ooooh oooh", sounding like the sound randomly cuts out for a second.
Yeah this is a bit crap ngl. Seems as though there's something... missing from it, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is.
This isn't as good as their last three (or four including Stronger actually) singles, but it's pretty nice anyway. Not sure I'd be keen on it being a proper single but I do hope it's on the album.
