Is it a single? The article just refers to as an "interlude" from the forthcoming album

Yeah, it is not a single and won't be released onto iTunes until the release of the album. It is only an interlude so will not chart. Rihanna only posted it on Tumblr because the message coincides with 4/20.

Unusual behavior for 'Lean on', it just doesn't take off from the top-10 effect. Not to mention that it's their second top-10 run of the same type.

The best song of this fantastic album. Perfect 5 singles choice. It's insane.. I would choose THE SAME.

You mean hit after hit like Pour It Up -> Right Now -> What Now?

Well, What Now did quite well in the end to be fair.

True. But all of her songs are underperforming even before the album is out. The lead single sequence of Only Girl > We Found Love > Diamonds was insane. Each song selling over a million in the UK. It seems like the old Rihanna has gone and this careless, arrogant woman has replaced her.

I think Rihanna has either gotten too big for her own boots, hence the off-the-rails behaviour and bad songs or her star is starting to fade.

Excluding the desperate and god-awful featuring performances with Eninem and Kayne (I hate Rihanna when she sings with that c.t Kayne), she hasn't had a hit since "Stay".

I'm not sure what you guys mean when you say her persona/behavior changed—this devil-may-care attitude has been part of her persona since at least Rated R, no?
Ariana Grande 'One Last Time' on release schedule for 8th June?! Is this a mistake?! ... Feels like it's been out ages!!

No, but it actually makes sense to be honest! She's touring the UK here at this time and it's also around the time of the BGT finals; her being in the UK may mean a live performance (plus the maximum airplay will be given on that week commencing to). It's actually a good move imo!

Some progress !! This was such a MOMENT live and I would hate it to see it flop here, especially as it's gunning for top 10 at US pop radio!

I think it's mainly because despite her attitude, she at least released decent singles that sounded like hits before. Now she either doesn't care about success any more or she's just being lazy - FourFiveSeconds has done well on name alone, it hardly sounds massive, and the others are just average. It doesn't really bother me whether she does well as she hasn't released anything I've liked from the last two albums and this one doesn't look to be any different, but it is annoying how much potential is being wasted, she could easily still be at the peak of her career if she actually bothered with it.

:banghead: WE WANT AFIRE LOVE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD ED :drama:

Runaway is an incredibly underrated song from 'x'. I never hear it get mentioned, yet it's one of the catchiest songs on the whole album imo.
hopefully 'Photograph' is the last single of the 'x' era, although he released six singles from '+' so I imagine he'll do the same here. hoping that he releases 'Afire Love' as the final single if that's the case, Photograph is bland in comparison.
Rihanna won't fade away, but the type of music she's releasing at the moment rarely catches on in the UK for anybody. Beyonce's urban singles have always done much worse chart wise than her catchy poppier stuff. It's just the way the market is here I guess, in fact it's quite commendable that FourFiveSeconds did as well as it did, being quite a subtle song and not the sort of sound usually at the top of the UK chart at all. As soon as she leads an album with another banger she'll be back at No.1.

I don't think Rihanna's personality, attitude or behaviour has changed at all. Like somebody said, she's always come across quite carefree and arrogant. What probably has changed is that she's made it quite clear recently that she wants to spend time making more authentic music which has a bit of depth to it, rather than raking in cash for Def Jam by releasing predictable dancey pop time after time. In terms of her commercial success this time around, it might not be the best idea, but in terms of her artistry, it's a bold move.
