May 12, 201510 yr I don't get how people can find this "dull" but want something like 'Afire Love' as a single?! I agree with you there! As long as you aren't trying to shade Afire Love! I think they're both equally beautiful tracks. They're both slower tracks so I don't get how people can like one and not the other but maybe Afire Love just clicks for people more lyrically? Yeah, I'd imagine you're right. I've always found 'Afire Love' to be completely arresting and a major standout on the album. It's got a really beautiful melody and extremely evocative and touching lyrics about a grandparent's struggle with Alzheimer's disease, a subject not dealt with often in music to which I'm sure many people can relate (myself included). The prolonged outro is also stunning and I love the storytelling style of the song. For me, 'Photograph' is simply a standard, pleasant love song and nothing more. :P Edited May 12, 201510 yr by Noahspike

But then I really don't get the fuss over Thinking Out Loud. It just plods on and on for me unlike the other two. :lol:Yeah, there was no shade at all  I just found it interesting how people could find this "dull" but then praise 'Afire Love' when it's fairly similar. I get Noah's point about 'Afire Love' being a message that we don't hear about too often in pop songs and that is probably what's swinging it in it's favour/people preferring it to 'Photographs'. But as far as love songs go, 'Photographs' has specifically clicked with me.
May 12, 201510 yr "Photograph" 3rd most added in US pop radio, with 34 adds. Should end up being as big as "Thinking Out Loud". WHY ARE THEY DISMISSING BLOODSTREAM THO
May 13, 201510 yr What I love about Afire Love isn't just about the lyrics, in fact, Thinking Out Loud is probably in my top 10 favourite lyrics. His voice in AL just sounds really powerful and love the progression throughout the song :music:
June 5, 201510 yr Just heard this for the first time today and blimey what a rip-off of Matt Cardle's (awful) 'Amazing'!! How are people lapping this up so much?
June 5, 201510 yr Just heard this for the first time today and blimey what a rip-off of Matt Cardle's (awful) 'Amazing'!! How are people lapping this up so much? A) What's the likelihood of him having even heard that? B) People lap up anything Ed Sheeran at the moment.
June 5, 201510 yr A) What's the likelihood of him having even heard that? Considering it was on the radio a few years back I'd say it's quite likely. Especially seeing as both choruses are exactly the same.
June 6, 201510 yr The video is very cool! Its good to see a musician supported by his family right from the start. The boy done good
June 18, 201510 yr Oh my God! That's so good. Not quite up to the standard of the Kygo remix of 'I See Fire', but still brilliant. I think we know what sound Ed should tap into on his new album! :kink:
June 26, 201510 yr That Felix Jaehn remix is something special. Really getting into it. It's wonderful <3
July 5, 201510 yr VERY late, but the Felix remix has genuinely given me the very first Ed Sheeran song I've ever enjoyed. Edited July 5, 201510 yr by Joe.
June 8, 20169 yr Just heard this for the first time today and blimey what a rip-off of Matt Cardle's (awful) 'Amazing'!! How are people lapping this up so much? Someone called it! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/artic...r-s-single.html
June 9, 20169 yr Wouldn't say the entire song is note-for-note identical as the article suggests, but the choruses are strikingly similar. That said I doubt Ed would intentionally rip off any song and most certainly not a Matt Cardle song of all songs. It was probably a similar situation to Diana Vickers and 'My Wicked Heart' where she wrote that chorus and then was told afterwards that it resembled Red Hot Chilli Peppers which she then explained she had listened to 'Under The Bridge' just before creating her song which was probably why. Ed probably thought he had got a new melody but in fact he had heard it before and not realised that he had. But yes, the choruses are very similar so I can see where the writers of Amazing are coming from.
June 9, 20169 yr That article is terrible journalism. I listened to the song to see if it was similar to 'Photographs' and the verses really aren't similar at all, the chorus I can definitely hear though. Also, the whole "theme" of the song is a ridiculous accusation lmao. Is he gonna sue every love song going?? But yeah I don't believe there was any intentional ripping off, personally. (Also, this topic and the weather we're currently experiencing, has reintroduced the glorious Felix Jaehn remix) <3 Also, this song is still my fave Ed song. Simple but extremely effective.
June 9, 20169 yr "They" not "he" :P none of this has anything to do with Matt.Oh I know, I was more referring to the lawyer responsible for the 'Blurred Lines' case haha. But yeah, "they" would be more appropriate and I understand that Matt hasn't had anything to do with it.
June 9, 20169 yr Somewhat amusing that Johnny McDaid (off of Snow Patrol) is being sued in conjunction when “Amazing” blatantly rips-off the melody of Snow Patrol’s “How To Be Dead”.
June 9, 20169 yr The choruses of both songs sound really similar, I'm not surprised the songwriters are trying to sue. 20 million is of course too excessive but these lawsuits always seem to ask for a large amount so they can eventually settle for a lesser but still big amount (probably a few mill in this case).
June 9, 20169 yr Somewhat amusing that Johnny McDaid (off of Snow Patrol) is being sued in conjunction when “Amazing” blatantly rips-off the melody of Snow Patrol’s “How To Be Dead”. It's fine, he can live off Courteney Cox's fortune.
