Anyone attending her Christmas shows?

 

Just treat myself to some tickets for her show in Newcastle on Tuesday.

 

Always loved her so will be great to see her live again for the first time since 2010l

 

I went last night in Cardiff. The show was fun and Simon is correct on theme. However, Leona was fighting a cold and had to cut the set short (only a couple songs fortunately) as she was clearly struggling. Hopefully with some rest she will be fine but suspect the next few shows might have to be cancelled/rescheduled again.

I’ve just seen that she’s had to cancel tonight’s show!

 

My show is on Tuesday. I very spontaneously booked tickets just the day before payday as a treat. Hopefully she rests well and the show does go ahead or can be rescheduled. What a shame that this is happened though especially as this is a rescheduled tour to begin with isn’t it!

 

On another note, I can’t quite believe her Christmas album is 10 years old.

One more sleep should have got a happy 10th anniversary vinyl release.

I would welcome One More Sleep to be in the Top 40 this week.

Wonder how high it can get. I’d love it to sneak another week inside the top 10 again this year (it usually peaks like the final chart week of the year doesn’t it as it’s a Christmas Eve themed track) but maybe top 20 could be more realistic?

I feel like its chances of getting really high up the chart are hindered by playlist placing. If it was higher up playlists I feel it’d be close to top 10 now. Like Kelly and Ariana.

Thats true on Spotify! I use Apple Music though and she’s top ten on there and actually higher than Ariana!

 

I’m glad it’s still become somewhat of a UK staple throughout December regardless.

 

With any luck I’ll be seeing her live tomorrow as well if her tour does indeed resume for the Newcastle show :)

i am surprised this seems to not do as well as some of the other staples!

It doesnt aswell as others but i think overall it does ok and without it we would never see Leona in the charts.

Her Newcastle show tonight did indeed go ahead.

 

She was definitely unwell (she opened the show very apologetic saying how she was feeling unwell but she wanted to put on a show tonight. The atmosphere was intimate but lovely and cosy and even with sickness she still has a beautiful voice.

 

She was really lovely plenty of crowd involvement and crowd interactions and she looked beautiful as well some lovely outfits.

 

I’ve always really went hard for Leona though when she’s good in the vocal stakes she’s *really* good!

 

Really here for some new non Christmas related material from her now but what a nice last minute treat it turned out to be.

 

Also we really need One More Sleep to continue being a staple. Would love to see it take off worldwide but she’s definitely (for me at least) the British festive queen.

It's a belter of an Xmas track - easily one of the best!! She needs to promote it to hell and back in the US, get it poppin off on tiktok, ro get on the Americanfied Xmas spottyfy playlists, to make it a worldwide smash. But Leona's always been a bit zen aboot success, so she won't bother.

It doesnt seem to be doing aswell this year as other years, i thought it would be safely top 30 in todays mids but it isnt. Id love to see her promote it again.

One More Sleep is at #29 this week. Would be nice to see it slightly rise next year (it was at #25 this week last year) but I’m pleased it’s managed another four weeks top 40 this year. 30 weeks top 40 now! Hopefully will return again next year even if it’s within the 31-40 region it’s still become a modern staple.

 

Kiss Me It’s Christmas also enters this week at #87 (a new peak).

 

Next year I’d love to see the Christmas album itself re enter the charts it’s never actually reentered since 2013 but it must still stream decently through December I suppose? Get Mr Right onto playlists next year to give her a third Christmas streamer and cement her as the UKs Christmas queen :wub:
