So Miguel is back! I don't know how many people were here for the 'Kalidiscope Dream' era but apart from 'Channel Orange' it is my favourite male R&B album of the last 5 years for certain. So he has come back, pretty out of the blue, to drop his first single from the upcoming era, a re-working of the song 'Coffee' which he released as part of an EP back in December. Have to say it passed me by, despite being a massive fan, so I don't know quite how different it is. The added Wale verse works so well though and I think it is a great album lead. Can't wait to see what else he brings us with this album!

YES. I was going to bump the EP thread when i saw this reworking, but i'm very happy to see a new album is in the works. 'Kaleidoscope Dream' was such a good album so hoping this one follows on nicely from that.

'Coffee (f***ing)' is sfg <3

Thought all the ad libs from the rap onwards seemed like overkill and a bit grating on first listen but this is sounding absolutely sublime after a couple more plays, especially the verses . Always loved Miguel's smooth vocals on the few tracks of his I've heard ('Adorn' being up there as one of my most-played songs of the last few years) and 'Kaleidoscope Dream' has been an album I've been meaning to get around to hearing for ages so I'm excited to check out his stuff now, new and old. ^_^

Just got around to listening to this and it's so good!

Hopefully he has some more tracks to keep my interest enough to listen to his album this time!

Did you never listen to Kaleidoscope Dream either? I would massively suggest you give it a listen even still, it really is a very special album.

"Coffee (f***ing)" is gorgeous  It really reminds me of Spandau Ballet's "Gold" () at some points though, it must sample it?! I've not actually listened to either of his previous albums but "Adorn" is a f***ing tune so I really should invest my time!
Completely obsessed with 'Coffee'. I prefer the clean version to the explicit with rap version though.

'NWA' and 'Hollywood Dreams' making it in, yay. SO excited for this - 'Coffee (f***ing)' has been my #1 song for weeks now

The album is very solid. It's quite different to 'Kaleidoscope Dream' but still has his signature touch and flair. Some very filthy moments alongside very tender bits so it really works when put together. 'leaves' is gorgeous

Quadruple post oops~

I really really like the album but I have to say it didn't quite live up to expectations. 'Kaleidoscope Dream' was an almost perfect record and this is solely a very strong one, I kind of wanted a little bit more. Nothing is really as instant or as exciting as on his previous work for me so far, but maybe I just need to give it more of a chance to continue to grow.

Having said that, coming out with an 8.0/10.0 album can't really be sneered at.

I liked 'Kaleidoscope Dream' but this on a whole new level..have just had my first listen but can already tell it'll be an album of the year. Incredible stuff.
