I mean, it features DRAKE. Only heard that Loreen song via one play on plug.dj :kink: But it sounded v good indeed and I was never even a particularly huge fan of 'Euphoria', never expected I'd end up charting one of her songs eventually... (even if only briefly). #40 was your impact again also via plug.dj :heart:

The one week #1s keep coming for now as Kendrick falls back to #2, leaving Fetty Wap to reach the top spot in his fifth week on the chart with 'Trap Queen'. A massive grower after I wasn't really massively keen on it at all on first listen, it really is irresistibly catchy though. Dedicated to mi trap quen Jade obvz xo

 

Little movement elsewhere in the top 10, though David Guetta & co climb into the top 5 with 'Hey Mama' and Tove Lo's 'Talking Body' hits a new peak of #9. Highest new entry at #10 is Odd Future affiliated group The Internet with silky smooth R&B jam 'Special Affair' ~ Two BJFest IV entries (from Heat 3) impact the chart, Melé at #15 (who went direct to the final alongside our own entry which is not in our chart at all for reasons, mainly the fact it's a 1996 song) and Denvish at #22 (who sadly didn't progress but keeps up the solid hit rate of Jadakissnia entries in the Persephonian chart).

 

Other new entries at #18 for Afrobeat group The Very Best (I hope [redacted member] doesn't hate me for charting this already) with the super catchy 'Yoshua Alikuti', #34 for two thirds of The xx with 'Loud Places' (expect that to climb in coming weeks) and #36 for Ed Sheeran's latest single 'Photograph' which should technically be a re-entry but is a new entry on this incarnation of my chart. Woop.

BJFest takeover! 'Aaliyah' seems to be growing on me with each listen, definitely putting the initial dislike down to one of my all-time faves being chopped up in such a way, but slowly appreciating it in this new light. Thrilled to see you take so much to 'Spook' :wub: something I'd been wanting to unleash to the world since I was about nine, so this was pretty much the perfect platform. Hooray for our taste crossing over once again and very best of luck with 'Believe In Yourself' during the final! Newly appointed motivational song for exams, tbh.

 

ONUKA still here too! Glad it's still holding somewhat strong for a BJSC entry, I'm still listening to it all the time since the contest *.* Hopefully you enjoy my ~mysterious as per~ next entry!

Finally a multi-week #1 again as Fetty Wap gets a second week with 'Trap Queen'. The pattern of new #1s was nearly continued by DJ S.K.T and Rae who shoot up to #2 with 'Take Me Away'. The Prodigy's 'Warrior's Dance' technically only has a #17 peak on my chart but only because I didn't start it until a while after its single release, it would obviously have been a pretty huge #1 had my chart started a bit earlier. DJ S.K.T's take on the same sample that used isn't QUITE as good but still a massive tune that's quickly grown on me, as you can see from the chart run ~

 

A pretty stale top 10 aside, though Galantis' 'Runaway (U & I)' makes a belated top 10 appearance as I've always QUITE LIKED it but it's only properly clicked in the last week or so. The two highest new entries are both from the BJFestivalen IV final. Just missing the top 10 is Bré chart ~veteran~ and π entry TĀLĀ with How To Dress Well collaboration 'The One' which sadly somehow came last in the final (got our 12 tho). Lower down the top 20 is Ultraviolenceland's entry 'We Were Young' by SRTW at #19. Aeroche entry 'Pure Harm' by Kane Vale failed to make it through Andra Chansen but also impacts here at #24.

 

More new entries for Florence + The Machine with 'Ship To Wreck' at #21 (super late as I often am), Adam Lambert getting a surprise hit with 'Ghost Town' at #26, A$AP Rocky's album track and plug.dj discovery 'L$D' at #29 (I will hear the rest of the album eventually!!1!) and finally a belated entry for WALK THE MOON's 'Shut Up And Dance' at #34 because I'm a commercial hoe like that. I have always liked it ok.

Ooh yes that is a v good bit of Fetty Wap trivia there ~ Getting that Jadakissnian impakt as well *.* I have quite liked 'Runaway (U & I)' since I first heard it in BJSC but it's only properly clicked with me just recently, still not been able to get into any of their other songs though hm. I'd recommend you have a listen to the rest of TĀLĀ's stuff (you've already heard like 4 of her songs via plug.dj and she only has a few others lol but it's all very good stuff) ~

Lol you would say that ~ Avicii might climb again in a few weeks but I haven't actually heard it for a while now, clearly you need to spam it on plug more :magic: 'Trap Queen' is one of my favourite songs of the year now, can't believe I disliked it on first listen ;o And you should have sent SRTW when you had the chance! I'm sure it would have slain BJSC (glad it still went on to do pretty well in BJFest anyway though).

Fetty Wap spends a third straight week at the top spot with DJ S.K.T remaining his closest competition. Kendrick Lamar is kicked out of the top 3 by David Guetta and co.'s continued ascent. Audrey Napoleon climbs into the top 5 with a song that is like 2 years old so wtf is it doing in my chart??? Hmm.

 

Jack Ü and the Biebz climb to a new peak of #7 after four weeks at #8 (v Hey Mama) while also reaching new peaks in the top 10 are Galantis, up two to #8, and Florence + The Machine who fly 21-9 with 'Ship To Wreck' giving them their second Bré chart top 10 of this era. The highest new entry is Rudimental's comeback with Foy Vance, 'Never Let You Go' which launches at #11 and is expected to rise sharply next week.

 

Deorro's un-tainted-by-Chris-Brown original of 'Five Hours' re-impakts the chart at #15 then the rest of the new entries are songs people probably won't know cos I'm indie like that. Japanese hip-hop ish / electronic ish / crazy people Suiyoubi No Campanella claim a second top 20 hit at #19 with 'Shakushain'. A song I heard on the Radio 1 Rock Show when I couldn't be arsed to turn off the radio after the chart, The Black Queen's 'The End Where We Start' (sounding like a curious blend of Purity Ring and Linkin Park, a comparison which would probably only make sense to me) debuts at #24 and there are two more plug.dj discoveries, Melé's 'Ambience' at #25 (the follow-up to his BJFest entry 'Aaliyah' which is also still top 30) and Sigala's Jackson 5 sampling 'Easy Love' at #32.

Unfortunately not getting the 'Easy Love' lovin' but that is mainly due to finding the original annoying, so this re-working doesn't really do much for me. I don't think I'm familiar with any of the other new entries (haven't even heard Deorro yet!) minus the new Melé track which sounded pretty brilliant on plug! Although I suspect it will be next week when I'm gushing over your new entries haha!

'Never Let You Go' is definitely in their top 3 for me along with the two Newman collabs, it may not be their most original song ever but as you say it does have a rly atmospheric and kool sound to it! Unfortunately am not as keen on their other new song 'Rumour Mill' :( And I love 'ABC' lol but fair enough x You should definitely hear Deorro (the original), one of the best Yehesi BJSC entries. I guess you'd get to it eventually if you do continue this listening to every contest ever thing :magic: And yeah you'll probably know my new entries next week a lot better haha.
