Tyres, refuelling and an end to these ridiculously overly tech engines. This maximum fuel flow, max revs, max 100kgs fuel crap is awful.

Definitely have tyres where drivers can drive flat out for every lap and bring back refuelling and stop these hybrid engines. Also I would change the points system and have it like this:

 

10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1

Fantastic news that refuelling is going to make a return.

 

They must have heard you, Silas.

 

Although the hybrid engines and the 100kg fuel cap remains.

 

They'll also to have four tyre compounds next year for each race.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Revs are going up for 2017 too as well as some new aero rules to make the cars look more aggressive. Personally I think they should just return to the 2005 rules and start from there. f*** drs I miss all the techy aero on the car and the cars just looked a damned sight better back then.

 

The R25 and C24 that year were just beautiful.

 

Shame these engines are staying like you say but I understand the point they make of having put a lot of money into them. The engine freeze needs to cease though. That was fine back in the V10/V8 era when you had stable regs and only the ICE to worry about. Now with these revolutionary engines development should be unlocked to allow free development and reliability patches. Don't get me started on the 4 engines per year cap. This sport used to be so much better.

DRS is vital in my opinion, without it I doubt you'd have seen more than 1 or 2 overtakes in Spain for example. Of course breezing past someone on the straight isn't incredible but it's much better than the processions of the mid 2000s. F1 nowadays is much more exciting than ten years ago, even with Mercedes domination. The races are much better now than during Ferrari's dominant years as far as I can remember.

 

I'm glad refuelling is returning which will open up strategies, I can't see that new tyre rule staying in place - it'll end up being scrapped due to safety and/or costs.

As expected, money-bags Lewis Hamilton has signed a new three-year contract with Mercedes which could be worth up to £27 million a year ending any speculation of a move to Ferrari.

One year on from when Jules Bianchi scored Marussia's first and only points at the Monaco Grand Prix that was my highlight of the season.

 

Here's a update on Jules Bianchi's condition from his father following that horrific crash in Japan last October:

 

The father of Jules Bianchi says he is still hoping for a miracle but admits the situation is "stagnant" and that the family is preparing for the worst.

 

Bianchi, 25, has been unconscious since crashing into a recovery vehicle during last October's Japanese Grand Prix.

 

"While there's life, there's hope, even though after a while you are hoping for a miracle," Philippe Bianchi said.

 

"Every day the phone is by our side. When we get up, we think of Jules' life but we think also of his death."

 

Speaking to French television station Canal+, he added: "We have to think about death because we are in a situation where we know a lot of things can happen. It's terrible.

 

"In neurological terms, I'm not sure he is able to do much now.

 

 

"The situation is stagnant. Jules' neurological progress is not what we would like it to be."

 

It is almost a year since Bianchi claimed Marussia's first - and to date only - points in F1 with a ninth-placed finish at the Monaco Grand Prix.

 

Philippe Bianchi was speaking just days before this year's race around the principality, situated some 15 miles from where Jules Bianchi is being cared for in a Nice hospital.

 

"The first thing is that Jules is alive - that's the most important thing for us," his father added.

 

"He's fighting with the weapons that he has. Seeing him fighting gives a lot of hope to his loved ones, and it's important for us."

 

Marussia went into administration at the end of last season but were subsequently reformed and are now known as Manor.

 

Manor's return to Monte Carlo this week is being observed by team members with red wristbands bearing 'JB17', remembering Bianchi and his chosen race number.

I did the GPDA survey yesterday as well. It's hope they listen to what we think of the sport.

I am shocked ! when Lewis has finally parked his car, the press was so hard to watch, at least everyone were cheering to him.

 

 

What a bizarre decision. I know mistakes happen and all but the people at Mercedes are paid a FORTUNE and I don't expect mistakes that even Mr D* and I could immediately tell was a stupid tactical move. Completely baffling.

Indeed. A bizarre mistake there from Mercedes. At least it made the final end of the race quite exciting following quite a dull race at the front but plenty going on in the midfield.

 

Good to see Max Verstappen escape injury from that crash and then Grosjean blaming him. Verstappen given a five-place grid penalty for Canada there.

I'm not a Hamilton fan so I found it all amazing! A dull first 68 laps, but a final 10 laps that were some of the best laps in recent years :D

Definitely the final 10 laps of the Grand Prix were the best laps of the season.

 

 

They ought to have been but we all knew deep down there was going to be no overtaking still...

 

I was more looking forward to the fallout & reactions after the race!
