As you all know (or don't know - you all flopped by giving me a disappointingly poor ass turn out! :cry: :cry:) we have been doing a friendly AF battle between Buzzjack's most talked about artists.

 

Little Mix Forums part was to host a "Music Video Rate" where we vote based on the VIDEO (lmao - this is Buzzjack, so I doubt it!). But we shall see.

I also don't understand how 'Little Me' got in ahead of 'Word Up!' either. :unsure:

'Word Up!' not making it is a sin tbh. I can definitely see the appeal in 'Untouchable' though. 'Something New' however... they've had far better vids!

So kicking us off is an award winning video from the boys of One Direction. 'You & I' received a pretty poor average rating of just 5.18 which sees them all the way at the bottom of the pack at #30! I personally don't get the hate towards this video? I think the video is pretty strong and one we rarely see nowadays, although this freeze framing to action sequence was more effectively used by Jay's Royal Highness

, but it's a pretty cool concept and idea overall and I think 1D pulled it off well. The negatives for the video for me is the morphing into each member as it IS quite freaky and weird.

Up next and we have our very own girls, Little Mix with the inspiring song 'Little Me'. The video for this sees the girls sitting in a torn down apartment and singing along to the song etc... whilst have real people/real life situation stories told throughout. It's a nice enough video, it does it's job, but I wouldn't regard it anywhere near their best and what they're capable of personally. 'Word Up!' really should have been in it's place. I'm not a fan of it ALL being in B&W. I get why they used it but it would have been nice if for the final chorus something was in colour.

This is where it all goes wrong. SO VERY WRONG. Buzzjack. I thought you liked One Direction? Come on now. I wanted you to vote on the VIDEO not the song. 'Kiss You' is such a fun, joyous, humorous, feel good pop video (as well as song). So why all the hate and -1's for it? :( Easily one of my favourite videos in this entire rate. I guess it helps if you like the song, but I would like to think you can appreciate a video without having to like a particular song!

As we near the end of the bottom 5 we have another casualty and yep, you guessed it another One Direction video (starting to think people didn't rate on the videos :drama:). This time we are saying goodbye to 'Live While We're Young'. Another light hearted, feel good, gif-able video from the guys. The video is based on (I assume) Holiday, Summer camp type things. Where they partake in some activities over the weekend and stuff. Just a general feel good video that has severely under performed!

The final song in our batch tonight is the second song for Little Mix. 'How Ya Doin'?' falls out and is yet again, another video that manages to somehow under perform. Especially over a lot of the videos that we are yet to see in the countdown. It's a fun, colourful and vibrant video which sees the girls getting ready for a "night out" and sees them move from room to room singing about the topic of the song. With various solo shots thrown in for good measure and an actual decent "rent a rapper" video input from Missy. It should have been higher in this countdown and although the song is still bleh, the video (and remix) really helped it come to life for me.

You & I is actually a very good video, I don't care for the song, but it's one of the more creative videos here! Not surprised at Little Mix having a few crashing out, I love them, but there's only so many times you can dance inside a warehouse.

Up next is the highly anticipated comeback from the most successful girl group of the 21st Century. Girls Aloud came back after a 2 (and a bit) year hiatus to give us 'Something New'. I'm a bit disappointed that this managed to make the final (and finish above what it has) over what didn't make it through for them. It's definitely not a bad video, but it's most certainly not in their top 6. I find it all a bit too fast-pacing and we don't really see much of, well, anything? It's definitely suited to the tempo of the song which is a furiously fast paced track, but I'm personally not a fan of this video and think it's nothing more than "average".

At number 24 we have yet another video from our very own Little Mix. This time we say goodbye to their (proper) debut effort 'Wings'. Another vibrant, colourful and warehouse set video. This time I think it's a lot more imaginitive. Very nicely shot and put together with added effects, which don't look like they've just been thrown in for effect/to look good. This thing I love the most about this video as a huge fan, is how genuine they look as a group and you can tell they're actually friends. It's a very "debut" video and serves it's job as being a great one to get them off the starting blocks.
