5th: Thor

Thor did very well to make it to the top 5, though it was the clear loser here, taking 63% of the vote. People have their mixed feelings on Thor, and I know a couple of us preferred the Thor sequel to this, which went out in 8th place, but this first gave us Loki, so we should be forever grateful. That means Captain America: The Winter Solider remains as the last of the stand-alones, and has taken that title. But can it win the entire thing?

Films which incurred votes this round :

Thor - 14

Avengers: Age of Ultron - 4

Guardians of the Galaxy - 2

Captain America: The Winter Soldier - 1

Marvel's The Avengers / Avengers Assemble -1

5th Thor

6th Iron Man

7th Iron Man 3

8th Thor: The Dark World

9th - Captain America: The First Avenger

10th - Iron man 2

11th - The Incredible Hulk

Getting tight now!

YESSSSSS. Amazing top 4. My favourite four in the MCU! <3

'Age Of Ultron' for me now though.

Age of Ultron.

Absolute SHIT.

They are literally invincible and can't be hurt which = no drama.

The only question was how long could that robot survive against them. Answer was not long. The only mystery is how he lasted even a second.

Nah, Guardians of the galaxy, the others are a bit more substantial, Guardians is great fun, touching at times, but not quite in their league.

Just sat through Ultron for the second time, it's fab..

Aside from the part when one dies to save another then?

You know that none of the characters are actually invincible though right? If you were to chop their heads off or impale them, I'm fairly sure they'd be pretty dead. Also, aside from being encased in an iron suit, stronger, faster or just handier in a fight, Stark, Cap Am, Hawkeye and Black Widow are still only human.

Do you actually like any MCU movie, or are they all just absolute shit?

Yessss! Someone else who actually appreciates AOU

I watched AOU again the day and it's such a step down. So many things I feel are wrong with it. But still a solid blockbuster of course.

I'm so excited for civil war though - sounds like it'll be like a mini avengers movie while we wait for the next - just without Thor and Hulk. Hopefully it'll manage to pass the 'bechdel test' easily like Winter Soilder does and both Avangers failed (shame on you Joss!)

All shet! All full of overpowered invincible characters that can never br harmed.

The one who died wasn't an Avenger but an enhancedbwhatever the fanny side fook is that. It's imoossible to do that type of damage as they are gods. Even if it was possible to overcome their super speed strength and stupidly overpowered defence and abilitoes they'd probably rrvive themselves from skin cells not evaporated from a nuclear blast aka Wolverine.

Fairly certain that logic won't be holding true forever. They aren't invincible, they just prevailed against Ultron. At the end of the day NO superhero is going to defeated in a major movie like this, what would be the point? Oh well bad won, good lost? That never happens in the movies. I grant that it might add a little more depth to the movie if they were really, properly, challenged but the end result will always be the same. As it happens I think they did a good job of making the Avengers team come under serious pressure in Ultron, be it with Scarlet Witch breaking them mentally, or simply through sheer number of opponents. They didn't get off lightly at all and most certainly weren't all powerful and invincible.

My issues with Ultron are more to do with it just feeling a little lacklustre, especially after Winter Soldier and a stellar second season of SHIELD.

Avengers Assemble was the greatest super-hero of them all, after that there can be only a less-good follow-up, but ignoring it, Ultron is still a corker. Joss Whedon is just doing what he did in Buffy and Angel and Firefly, light and shade, top-notch adventure followed by darker, muddied discussions on the battle between good and evil. James Spader was a terrific baddie, and Whedon ALWAYS makes sure his villains are as great as his heroes, and his heroes are invariably flawed. In Whedon creations no-one is safe, no hero guaranteed to survive - go and check out the TV shows, by the end of each series many key characters are dead.

His hands are tied somewhat by not owning Marvel, but in the comics the Scarlet Witch and her late (? just check where the bullet-holes went?) twin brother were Avengers, and there are loads of others still to show up....

I can't wait! :yahoo:
