Shock second place. This iconic film comes in at 2nd, despite get nowhere near as many votes to leave as the winner did in the previous round. This is a perfect action film, which is paced really well, giving all the characters balanced screen time and has an absolutely thrilling and satisfying climax. Joss Whedon at his very best

Which means the winner is......

Well done GOTG, your chosen winner, by just ONE vote! It was very close, but there you have it. Guardians of the Galaxy is a slightly more light-hearted take on the franchise, with brilliant wit in its writing as well as strong comedic performances from Chris Pratt's abs the cast. I think most of us eagerly await the sequel as it'll be interested to see it woven slightly more with the rest of the franchise, as it feels quite far removed at the moment, despite a few links.

Thank you all for getting involved, voting and commenting  It was fun to host!

Avengers Assemble is probably the best superhero film I remember seeing; Guardians of the Galaxy is great, but compared to Avengers it is certainly not a contest in my eyes!

I saw the trailer for Ant-Man last night, it actually looks like it could challenge Avengers Assemble for me!

It was win/win/win for me in regards to the top 3! I would've been very happy which ever one won. I love all three of them because they're all completely different from any of the other Marvel films, but you can still tell they're Marvel films. I'm just pleased that even though I would absolutely have loved an 'Avengers Assemble' or 'Captain America: Winter Soldier' win, the final 3 results went exactly the way I had hoped.

Thanks for doing this one Joe. Easily my favourite film franchise (?) of all time. So it was interesting to see the rest of Buzzjack's thoughts on them all.

Now just for fun, I think this would've been my ideal order:

10.0 'Guardians Of the Galaxy'

10.0 'Avengers Assemble'

10.0 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'

09.0 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron'

08.5 'Iron Man'

08.5 'Thor 2'

08.0 'Captain America'

08.0 'The Incredible Hulk'

07.5 'Iron Man 3'

07.5 'Thor'

07.0 'Iron Man 2'

I really like them all. The last 3 aren't "terrible", they're just not as good when comparing it to all the others for me and I still like them a considerable amount.

This is a JOKE of a company with all these invincible men vs. weak villains.

They need to learn more from Spiderman and Batman than their own invincible Avengers which nothing can and will damage.

Surely they don't have to learn anything from those films, since they've made quite a bit more money than them?

I have no idea why either.

Stories need drama and making your characters LITERALLY INVINCIBLE takin no damage, ever, wailing on each other, causing no damage of course, then smashing an enemy that can´t do anything to them - the end of Ultron had me in kinks when the robot was like, this is what I wanted, all of me vs. all of you ... andddd of course, as they had been doing for what felt like 10 hours, destroyed him without breaking a sweat in 5 seconds. Surely a super robot would have seen them sashing him to pieces for 10 hours and realised hmm. I can´t do anything as they´re invincible?

With no possible damage from enemies, there is no drama. It is therefore shit. We may as well watch films of actuaries crunching numbers with the lack of drama that there is.

You mean the Spider-Man who has superhuman strength and agility and the ability to sense danger before it happens?

BJSCFLOPPERRRRR I can't take any of your posts seriously. Why do you get yourself so worked up over fictional characters and how LITERALLY INVINCIBLE they are? And more to the point, why are you even watching the movies in the first place?

So you think it's all shit. Tens of millions of people disagree. Move on.

You mean the Spider-Man who has superhuman strength and agility and the ability to sense danger before it happens?

Precisely. The whole argument makes no sense if only applied to The Avengers.

Isn't Spiderman joining the Avengers anyway?

I can't believe GotG actually won :drama: Especially when so many people wanted it out for the last five rounds...
