Can I get some sort of explanation as to WHY 'Bad Kids' is so hated? I've always found its swagger and staccato production really enjoyable - the harsh verses are a great contrast to the melodic chorus (which is probably its weakest element, granted). It's hardly her greatest song (and has dated quite a lot) but I had no idea it was this derided!
The only songs I don't listen to are The Queen, Fashion of His Love, and You and I. Once those go it gets brutal, because everything else is literally untouchable.

I do not hate 'Bad Kids', in fact i enjoy it, a lot. But we are comparing to the rest of the album which is on the whole much better produced, has more meaningful lyrics and isn't as jarring as this. The "great" contrast is quite messy so it's clear why some won't warm to it. As i said, i really enjoy it, but this is SOPHIE'S CHOICE extraordinaire so one amazing song will fall each time.

 

Thinking about it, i probably prefer it to 'Black Jesus + Amen Fashion' but neither are album highlights (and then 'Fashion of his Love' can join that to make the fun-but-weak-trio of the album).

oh and Bad Romance is worse than The Edge Of Glory, but since they are not on same records, i'm still voting for The Edge Of Glory.

Bad Kids

 

I just can't at The Queen looking like it'll be next out :mellow:

'The Queen' is sublime and has always been a hidden gem for me. I suspected it would fall very soon here but hopefully the likes of 'Black Jesus + Amen Fashion' can leave before it!
It's between 'Bad Kids', 'Black Jesus + Amen Fashion' and 'Fashion of his Love'.... think i'm going for the former. Bad Kids out ~

It's a toss up between the latter two for me ('Bad Kids' is near the bottom for me too but still a very good track).

 

I seem to remember the Born This Way album getting really slated at times (and not just because of being compared to The Fame/Monster) but it's a really strong album! Even the two "fashion" songs are fine to listen to. At least half the album is really excellent.
