I thought I read that they were bringing back Friday Night Premier League football anyway?

From the 2016/17 season according to Sky. This Villa Man United match seems a one off.

Will there be any football free day in the future!?

At this rate it's looking more and more likely! Could see Saturday 3PM KO's becoming less and less common in the top flight.
Yeah from 2016/2017 I think there will be 24 match days or something similar to that where there is a game on a Friday night. To be fair, I read the BBC article, and while it will be a bit of a shock, apparently Friday night football used to be a thing in the 80s before the Premier League!

I remember when West Ham were in the Championship during the mid noughties when there were loads of Friday night matches. Seemed quite successful at the time, although they were slowly phased out for Monday night instead.

I've always thought it makes more sense to have football on a Friday, rather than a Monday, night. Monday just seems like a strange day to have football on!

Swansea City manager Garry Monk has signed a new three-year contract with them following him leading the club to 8th in the Premier League last season.

Leicester City have appointed Claudio Ranieri as their new manager on a three-year contract. Ranieri's first job in England since he left Chelsea back in 2004. His last job was coaching Greece who lost to Faroe Islands in their European qualifying group.

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has suffered a broken wrist and could miss the start of the season. Tottenham have provided no details about how he suffered the injury.

Raneri is certainly a strange appointment, going for the polar opposite of Pearson perhaps. The players loved him, so be interesting to see how they take to Claudio.

I can't decide if there's a vague hint of suggestion to your post. :D

So in today's friendly match against AS Roma. Raheem Sterling scored within three minutes into his debut.

Also Louis Van Gaal is planning to use Wayne Rooney as a central striker for next season.

I can't wait for the new season to begin, weekends are quite boring without football. July must be the worst month of the year for TV  I especially can't wait to watch Man Utd vs Sunderland at Old Trafford on the 26th September!

Yeah weekends are far more entertaining with Premier League action (also the reason I HATE international weekends with a passion!)

At least July we have Wimbledon, a few Grands Prix & The World Matchplay of Darts! (Doubt anyone but me is interested in that though )

Edited by Dobbo

Season starts in two weeks this weekend - almost here!

Agree though the wait is unbearable, at least next year we have the Euros.

The wait can be unbearable at times I agree. Like Dobbo said at least we had Wimbledon and a few Grand Prix's.

Still not long too wait now.

I think the summer drought has gone by in a flash! Can hardly believe it's almost back already.

That's great to hear, Old Trafford is a very awe-inspiring stadium to watch a match at. In some ways, I prefer it to Wembley.

If I'm honest, its felt like football hasn't stopped  Especially with the Europa League and the change of manager at West Ham from my point of view. Still, can't wait to get back to Upton Park on August 15th for the Leicester game and the last ever season at the beloved Boleyn!

It will be my first time watching a match live at Old Trafford, living in London makes it hard to go down to Old Trafford on a regular basis and that's without taking the rate at which the tickets get sold out into consideration.

Are you a season ticket holder at West Ham?
